If we are looking for the activation energy. You must know that it should be equal to the activation energy of the forward reaction deducted by the drive in the reaction which is delta E. But since it is the reverse, change the sign of delta E.
The computation for this would be: 400 kJ/mol + 250 kJ/mol = 650 kJ/mol is the activation energy for the reverse reaction.

When you apply heat energy to a substance, where does the energy go? Think about the law of conservation of energy.

A chemist heats 100.0 g of FeSO4 x 7H2O in a crucible to drive off the water. If all the water is driven off, what is the mass o
Ierofanga [76]
FeSO₄*7H₂O(s) = FeSO₄(s) + 7H₂O(g)

M(FeSO₄*7H₂O)=278.0 g/mol
M(FeSO₄)=151.9 g/mol

m(FeSO₄*7H₂O)/M(FeSO₄*7H₂O)=m(FeSO₄)/M(FeSO₄)

m(FeSO₄)=M(FeSO₄)m(FeSO₄*7H₂O)/M(FeSO₄*7H₂O)

m(FeSO₄)=151.9*100.0/278.0=54.6 g

m(FeSO₄)=54.6 g

A gas is contained in a thick-walled balloon. When the pressure changes from 319 mm Hg to 215 mm Hg, th volume changes from 0.55
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]
In this question we need to find the new volume of the gas. Since we have been given the pressure and temperature change, we can used to combined gas law equation.
\frac{P1V1}{T1} = \frac{P2V2}{T2}
the parameters for 1st instance are given on the left side and parameters for the second instance are given on the right side of the equation
(319 mmHg x 0.558 L)/ 115 K = (215 mmHg x V)/387 K
V = 2.79 L

A solution is prepared by mixing 50.0 mL of 0.50 M Cu(NO3)2 with 50.0 mL of 0.50 M Co(NO3)2. Sodium hydroxide is added to the mi
vekshin1

Answer:

Cu(OH)₂ will precipitate first, with [OH⁻] = 2.97x10⁻¹⁰ M

Explanation:

The equilibriums that take place are:

Cu⁺² + 2OH⁻ ↔ Cu(OH)₂(s) ksp = 2.2x10⁻²⁰ = [Cu⁺²]*[OH⁻]²

Co⁺² + 2OH⁻ ↔ Co(OH)₂(s) ksp = 1.3x10⁻¹⁵ = [Co⁺²]*[OH⁻]²

Keep in mind that the concentration of each ion is halved because of the dilution when mixing the solutions.

For Cu⁺²:

2.2x10⁻²⁰ = [Cu⁺²]*[OH⁻]²

2.2x10⁻²⁰ = 0.25 M*[OH⁻]²

[OH⁻] = 2.97x10⁻¹⁰ M

For Co⁺²:

1.3x10⁻¹⁵ = [Co⁺²]*[OH⁻]²

1.3x10⁻¹⁵ = 0.25 M*[OH⁻]²

[OH⁻] = 7.21x10⁻⁸ M

Because Copper requires less concentration of OH⁻ than Cobalt, Cu(OH)₂ will precipitate first, with [OH⁻] = 2.97x10⁻¹⁰ M
