The greatest possible integer in the set could be 43.

Explanation

Range is the difference between largest and smallest terms in the set. That means...

Range= Largest - Smallest\\ \\ or, Largest= Range+Smallest

Now for getting the maximized largest number, we need to maximize the smallest number as the range 25 is fixed.

As the set has total 15 terms, so the median will be the 8th term. That means, there will be 7 terms before the median 25.

So, the maximized smallest number will be: 25 - 7 = 18 (As all the terms are different integers)

Thus, the possible greatest number = Range+ 18= 25+18=43

A set of 15 different integers has a median of 25 and a range of 25. What is the greatest possible integer that could be in this set?

Answer: We are given the median of 15 different integers = 25, which means there are 7 observations below 25.

To make the greatest number as greater as possible, these 7 numbers should cost the range as little as possible.

They will be 24,23,22,21,20,19,18

Therefore, the greatest value that can fill the range is 18 + 25 = 43

Hence, the greatest possible integer that could be in this set is 43.

Part a) if a page is reduced to 80%, what percent enlargement is needed to return it to its original size?

Let

x---------> the percent enlargement

we know that

the original size is the 100%

so

x*80%=100%

x=(100%/80%)

x=1.25--------> 1.25=(125/100)=125%

therefore

the answer Part a) is

the percent enlargement is 125%

Part b) Estimate the number of times in succession that a page must be copied to make the final copy less than 15% of the size of the original

we know that

A photocopy machine can reduce copies to 80% of their original size

so

Copy N 1

0.80*100%=80%

Copy N 2

0.80*80%=64%

Copy N 3

0.80*64%=51.2%

Copy N 4

0.80*51.2%=40.96%

Copy N 5

0.80*40.96%=32.77%

Copy N 6

0.80*32.77%=26.21%

Copy N 7

0.80*26.21%=20.97%

Copy N 8

0.80*20.97%=16.78%

Copy N 9

0.80*16.78%=13.42%-------------> 13.42% < 15%

therefore

the answer Part b) is

the number of times in succession is 9

Which of the following are exterior angles? Check all that apply.
choli [55]

Answer:

A. C. E. F.

That is, 2, 3, 5 and 6.

Step-by-step explanation:

In geometry, exterior angles are any angle place between any side of a shape and a line extended from the next side, as the figure shows.

As you can see, angle 2 and 3 are formed by a side of the triangle and an extended line from the next side. Similarly, angles 5 and 6 are formed the same way. Therefore, those four are exterior angles.

Dominic bought a new alarm clock that was on sale for $18.75. if this price represents a 30% discount from the original price. w
fredd [130]
So here you are trying to find out what times .30 (30%) subtracted the original price will give you 18.75. Because it is 30% discount you want to use 70% (.7) so that you can find the price before not the price after.

so .7(x) = 18.75

Which you then divide and then get 26.79 dollars.

There are four activities on the critical path, and they have standard deviations of 1, 2, 4, and 2. what is the probability tha
Anit [1.1K]

Standard deviations of the four activities of the critical path are 1,2,4,2.

Standard deviation of this critical path = Sum of square root of variance of this corresponding critical path

Standard deviation of critical path =\sqrt{1^2+2^2+4^2+2^2}

=\sqrt{1+4+16+4}

=\sqrt{25}

=5

Now we need to find the probability that the project will completed in 38 weeks given that its expected completion time is 40 weeks.

That is, we need to find P(X<38) :

z=\frac{38-40}{5}= \frac{-2}{5}=-0.4

P(X

Probability =0.5-0.16=0.34

Thus the probability that the project will be completed in 38 weeks is 0.34.
