The best method to separates mixture of salt and water is evaporation. Take a small sample of mixture in a china dish. Heat it till all water evaporate. The residual remain is salt. Josh should use this method to separate salt from water.

Answer:

evaporation

Explanation:

Evaporation is used in liquid and solid mixtures in which the liquid is evaporated. This method is effective when the liquid in the mixture easily evaporates, like water. Thus, we can conclude that evaporation would be the most efficient separation method for the student, shown in the question above, to use to separate the mixture of water and salt, because water would evaporate and salt would remain. This process is used in Brazilian salt flats to remove salt from seawater.

____ [38]

Answer:

\frac{I_{2}}{I_{1}} = 0.04

Explanation:

The intensity of a star noticed at a certain distance is inversely proportional to the square of distance. Then:

I_{1}\cdot r_{1}^{2} = I_{2}\cdot r_{2}^{2}

The intensity of the Sun in Jupiter relative to Earth is:

\frac{I_{2}}{I_{1}} = \frac{r_{1}^{2}}{r_{2}^{2}}

\frac{I_{2}}{I_{1}} = \left(\frac{1\,AU}{5.2\,AU} \right) ^{2}

\frac{I_{2}}{I_{1}} = 0.04

a 75 kg man is standing at rest on ice while holding a 4kg ball. if the man throws the ball at a velocity of 3.50 m/s forward, w
AysviL [449]

Answer:

His resulting velocity will be 0.187 m/s backwards.

Explanation:

Given:

Mass of the man is, M=75\ kg

Mass of the ball is, m=4\ kg

Initial velocity of the man is, u_m=0\ m/s(rest)

Initial velocity of the ball is, u_b=0\ m/s(rest)

Final velocity of the ball is, v_b=3.50\ m/s

Final velocity of the man is, v_m=?\ m/s

In order to solve this problem, we apply law of conservation of momentum.

It states that sum of initial momentum is equal to the sum of final momentum.

Momentum is the product of mass and velocity.

Initial momentum = Initial momentum of man and ball

Initial momentum = Mu_m+mu_b=75\times 0+4\times 0 =0\ Nm

Final momentum = Final momentum of man and ball

Final momentum = Mv_m+mv_b=75\times v_m+4\times 3.50 =75v_m+14

Now, initial momentum = final momentum

0=75v_m+14\\\\75v_m=-14\\\\v_m=\frac{-14}{75}\\\\v_m=-0.187\ m/s

The negative sign implies backward motion of the man.

Therefore, his resulting velocity is 0.187 m/s backwards.

When jumping, a flea accelerates at an astounding 1000 m/s2 but over the very short distance of 0.50 mm. If a flea jumps straigh
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

The flea reaches a height of 51 mm.

Explanation:

Hi there!

The equations of height and velocity of the flea are the following:

During the jump:

h = h0 + v0 · t + 1/2 · a · t²

v = v0 + a · t

While in free fall:

h = h0 + v0 · t + 1/2 · g · t²

v = v0 + g · t

Where:

h = height of the flea at time t.

h0 = initial height.

v0 = initial velocity.

t = time.

a = acceleration of the flea due to the jump.

v = velocity of the flea at time t.

g = acceleration due to gravity.

First, let's calculate how much time it takes the flea to reach a height of 0.0005 m. With that time, we can calculate the speed reached by the flea during the jump:

h = h0 + v0 · t + 1/2 · a · t²

If we place the origin of the frame of reference on the ground, then, h0 = 0. Since the flea is initially at rest, v0 = 0. Then:

h = 1/2 · a · t²

We have to find the value of t for which h = 0.0005 m:

0.0005 m = 1/2 · 1000 m/s² · t²

0.0005 m / 500 m/s² = t²

t = 0.001 s

Now, let's find the velocity reached in that time:

v = v0 + a · t   (v0 = 0)

v = a · t

v = 1000 m/s² · 0.001 s

v = 1.00 m/s

When the flea is at a height of 0.50 mm, its velocity is 1.00 m/s. This initial velocity will start to decrease due to the downward acceleration of gravity. When the velocity is zero, the flea will be at the maximum height. Using the equation of velocity, let's find the time at which the flea is at the maximum height (v = 0):

v = v0 + g · t

At the maximum height, v = 0:

0 m/s = 1.00 m/s - 9.81 m/s² · t

-1.00 m/s / -9.81 m/s² = t

t = 0.102 s

Now, let's find the height reached by the flea in that time:

h = h0 + v0 · t + 1/2 · g · t²

h = 0.0005 m + 1.00 m/s · 0.102 s - 1/2 · 9.81 m/s² · (0.102 s)²

h = 0.051 m

The flea reaches a height of 51 mm.

Sladkaya [172]

Question:

Mateo drew the field lines around the ends of two bar magnets but forgot to label the direction of the lines with arrows. In which direction should an arrow at position 1 point?

left

right

up

down

Answer:

The correct answer is

Left

Explanation:

Magnetic circuits describe the path of a magnetic flux. In the same way electricity follows a complete closed circuit, the path of a magnetic flux is also a complete and closed circuit which leaves from the N pole, migrates through the air  and reenters the magnet through the S pole through which it passes back into the magnet to come to the N pole again.

As such the magnetic field lines emanate from the N pole which is on he right to the S pole which is on the left. Hence the arrow should point in the left direction.
