Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation is y - 5 = 0.5x² + 6x - 3

We have to find the number of x - intercepts the graph of this equation will make.

For x-intercepts we will put y = 0

so 0 - 5 =0.5x² + 6x - 3

     0.5x² + 6x - 3 + 5 = 0

   0.5x² + 6x + 2 = 0

      x² + 12x + 4 = 0

We know if a quadratic equation is ax² + bx + c = 0

and b² - 4ac > 0 there will be two real roots.

In this equation b = 12, C = 4 and a = 1 (12)² - 4 × 4 = 144 - 16

                                                         = 128 > 0

Therefore, there will be two intercepts of x

The 11th grade class at Red Hook high school was surveyed about the types of music they liked. Of those surveyed, 64% said they
Zarrin [17]

22% liked neither.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

64% liked pop music.

52% liked rap music.

38% liked both type of music.

To find out the percentage of those liked neither.

Now,

Let, total number of student = 100

Number of students liked pop = 64

Number of students liked rap = 52

Number of students liked both = 38

So,

Number of students who liked only pop = 64-38 = 26

Number of students who liked only rap = 52-38 = 14

Hence,

Number of students who liked neither = 100 - (26+14+38) = 22

22% liked neither.

Solve for d.
r-ruslan [8.4K]
5d + 2(2 - d) = 3(1 + d) + 1
5d + 2(2) - 2(d) = 3(1) + 3(d) + 1
5d + 4 - 2d = 3 + 3d + 1
5d - 2d + 4 = 3d + 3 + 1
3d + 4 = 3d + 4

       4 = 4
