[OH⁻] = 1.6 × 10⁻⁸ mol / dm³

<h3>Explanation</h3>

By definition, [\text{H}^{+}] = 10^{-\text{pH}}, where [\text{H}^{+}] is the concentration of proton in the solution.

pH = 6.2 for this solution. As a result, [\text{H}^{+} = 10^{-6.2} = 6.31 \times 10^{-7} \; \text{mol} \cdot \text{dm}^{-3}.

[\text{H}^{+}] \cdot [\text{OH}^{-}] = \text{K}_w, where [\text{OH}^{-}] the concentration of hydroxide ions and \text{K}_w is the dissociation constant of water.

\text{K}_w = 10^{-14} \; \text{mol}\cdot \text{dm}^{-3} at 0.10 MPa and 25 °C. As a result, [\text{OH}^{-}] = \text{K}_w / [\text{H}^{+}] = 10^{14} / (6.31 \times 10^{-7}) = 1.6 \times 10^{-8} \; \text{mol}\cdot \text{dm}^{-3}.

Put the steps in order to show how crystals are formed. Formation of ions: Formation of crystals: Formation of ionic bonds: Form
dmitriy555 [2]

Explanation:

Formation of crystals starts with formation of ions. After the formation of ions the bond formation takes place between the ions.

Bond making between the ions give rise to formation of cubic unit cell by placing them in such a fashion that it forms a shape of a cube.

These cube are then arranged in a repeated pattern which ultimately leads to the formation of crystals.

Hence, the order of steps:

Step 1 : Formation of ions

Step 2: Formation of ionic bonds

Step 3: Formation of cubes

Step 4: Formation of crystals

Why does 4.03/0.0000035 = 1.2 x 106, instead of a different number of significant figures?
jasenka [17]

Explanations:- As per the significant figures rule, In multiplication and division, we go with least number of sig figs.

4.03 has three sig figs where as 0.0000035 has two sig figs only, The zeros in this number are not sig figs as they are just holding the place values. As the least number of sig figs here is two, the answer needs to be reported with two sig figs only.

\frac{4.03}{0.0000035}=1.2*10^6

The ksp of agcl is 1.6 x 10-10. what is the solubility of agcl in 0.010 m fecl3? give your answer using scientific notation (1.2
bija089 [108]

Ksp of AgCl= 1.6×10⁻¹⁰

AgCl=Ag⁺ +Cl⁻

Ksp=[Ag⁺][Cl⁻]

Assume [Ag⁺]=[Cl⁻]=x

Ksp=x²

1.6×10⁻¹⁰=x²

x=0.000012

In FeCl₃:

FeCl₃------>Fe⁺³+ 3Cl⁻

as there is 0.010 M FeCl₃

So there will be ,

[Cl⁻]= 0.030

So

[Ag⁺]=Ksp/[Cl⁻]

=1.6×10⁻¹⁰/0.030

=5.3×10⁻⁹

so solubility of AgCl in FeCl₃ will be 5.3×10⁻⁹.
