A student uses a spring scale to exert a horizontal force on a block, pulling the block over a smooth floor. the student repeats

the procedure several times, each time pulling the block from rest through a distance of 1.0m. For which of the following graphs of force as a function of distance will the block be moving the fastest at the end of 1.0m.

... I would need to see the graphs, but if it helps, the material the block is made out of can cause the block to move slower or faster. Say a sandpaper block and a smooth wooden block were pulled at the same time, the sandpaper block would move slower than the wooden block because there would be more friction between the floor and sandpaper than the floor and a wooden block. Hope this helps!

If a 3-kg rabbit's leg muscles act as imperfectly elastic springs, how much energy will they hold if the rabbit lands from a hei
DiKsa [7]

Answer;

- 15 J

Explanation;

-Potential energy is defined as mechanical energy, stored energy, or energy caused by its position.

-For the gravitational force the formula is P.E. = mgh, where m is the mass in kilograms, g is the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m /s² at the surface of the earth) and h is the height in meters.

Potential energy of the rabbit at the peak of its height is

PE = (3)(10)(0.5) = 15 J

(around 14.7 but because energy is lost, it is less than that)

For some metal alloy, a true stress of 345 MPa (50040 psi) produces a plastic true strain of 0.02. How much will a specimen of t
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

24.348mm

Explanation:

NB: I'll be attaching pictures so as to depict missing mathematical expressions or special characters which are not easily found on keyboards

K = d / €^n

Note : d represents the greek alphabet epsilion.

K = 345 / 0.02⁰.²² = 816mPa

The true strain based upon the stress of 414mPa =

€= (€/k)^1/n = (414/816)¹/⁰.²² = 0.04576

However the true relationship between true strain and length is given by

€ = ln(Li/Lo)

Making Li the subject of formula by rearranging,

Li = Lo.e^€

Li = 520e⁰.⁰⁴⁵⁷⁶

Li = 544.348mm

The amount of elongation can be calculated from

Change in L = Li - Lo = 544.348 - 520 change in L = 24.348mm.

The maximum tension that a 0.80 m string can tolerate is 15 N. A 0.35-kg ball attached to this string is being whirled in a vert
zimovet [89]

Answer:

v=5.86 m/s

Explanation:

Given that,

Length of the string, l = 0.8 m

Maximum tension tolerated by the string, F = 15 N

Mass of the ball, m = 0.35 kg

We need to find the maximum speed the ball can have at the top of the circle. The ball is moving under the action of the centripetal force. The length of the string will be the radius of the circular path. The centripetal force is given by the relation as follows :

F=\dfrac{mv^2}{r}

v is the maximum speed

v=\sqrt{\dfrac{Fr}{m}} \\\\v=\sqrt{\dfrac{15\times 0.8}{0.35}} \\\\v=5.86\ m/s

Hence, the maximum speed of the ball is 5.86 m/s.

A standard baseball has a circumference of approximately 23 cm . if a baseball had the same mass per unit volume as a neutron or
Svetlanka [38]

<u>Answer:</u>

 Mass of base ball  m_b=3.992*10^{14}kg

<u>Explanation:</u>

  Circumference of baseball = 2πr = 23 cm

  So radius of baseball = 3.66 cm = 3.66*10^{-2} m

   Mass per unit volume of baseball = Mass per unit volume of neutron or proton.

   Mass of proton = 10^{-27} kg

   Diameter of proton = 10^{-15} m

   Radius of proton =  5*10^{-16} m

   Volume of ball = \frac{4}{3} \pi r^3

   Now substituting all values in Mass per unit volume of baseball = Mass per unit volume of neutron or proton.

         \frac{m_b}{\frac{4}{3}\pi *(3.66*10^{-2})^3} =\frac{10^{-27}}{\frac{4}{3}\pi *(5*10^{-16})^3}

         \frac{m_b}{(3.66*10^{-2})^3} =\frac{10^{-27}}{(5*10^{-16})^3}

         m_b=3.992*10^{14}kg

       So mass of base ball  m_b=3.992*10^{14}kg

What principles of science (like facts, laws, and theories) might help explain why similar investigations conducted in many part
natulia [17]

Answer:

Reproducibility of research

Explanation:

The principle of science that explains why similar experimental investigations conducted in different parts of the world could result in the same outcome is referred to as reproducibility.

<em>A good research or experiment in science must be reproducible, otherwise, the outcome of such an experiment might become inadmissible within the scientific community. It is a core principle of the scientific method that similar results should be obtained when an experiment or observational study conducted in one place is repeated in another place with the same procedure. Hence, an experiment must be reproducible in science in order for the outcome of such an experiment to be part of the general scientific knowledge. </em>
