Answer:

B. 54.4 m/s

Explanation:

Using the equation;

S = ut + 1/2at²

Where;

v is the final velocity

u is the initial velocity,

a is the acceleration,

s is the displacement

Therefore;

975 =(7.55×31.5) + (0.5×a× 31.5²)

975 = 237.825 + 496.125a

496.125a = 737.175

a = 1.486 m/s²

But;

v = u + at

 = 7.55 m/s + (1.486 × 31.5)

 = 54.355 m/s

 = 54.4 m/s

Therefore;

The final velocity is 54.4 m/s

loris [4]

Answer:

No, the resulting wave in the diagram does not demonstrate destructive interference. The resulting wave in the diagram shows a bigger wave than Wave 1 or Wave 2. If it demonstrated destructive interference, it would be a smaller wave or a horizontal line. With destructive interference, waves break down to form a smaller wave, or cancel each other out, resulting in no wave formation.

The speed of light in a transparent medium is 0.6 times that of its speed in vacuum. Find the refractive index of the medium.
grin007 [14]

Answer:

The refractive index is 1.66

Explanation:

The speed of light in a transparent medium is 0.6 times that of its speed in vacuum .

Refractive index of medium = speed of light in vacuum / speed of light in medium

So

RI = 1/0.6 = 5/3 or 1.66

An inclined plane is made out of a short plank of wood. It is used to move a 300N box up onto a tabletop 1m above the floor. Wha
Ronch [10]

Answer:

The purpose of an inclinded plane is to make easier to move objects to a certain height.

The technology behind this is about the Work you need to use to move the object upwards. Basically, when we use an inclined plane, we are splitting the net force, making easier to move. All this means, the force needed to move the objecto up will be lower, due to the inclined plane.

So, if the force needed is lower, then the work is also lower, because the work done is defined as the product between the force applied and the distance traveled.

In addition, if we have a longer inclined plane, that means the force needed is even lower, beacuse the distance is increased, but the Work is the same, because it only depends on the initial and final point.

Therefore, in this case, the work would remain the same and the mechanical advantage would increase. As we said before, the work needed will be the same despite the force decreases, because the distance increases, remaining the work as a constant. And the mechanical advantage increases, because it's easier to move if the inclined plane is longer.

In the context of energy transfers with hot and cold reservoirs, the sign convention is that _______________.
Likurg_2 [28]

Answer:

B. QC > 0; QH < 0

Explanation:

Given that there are two reservoir of energy.

Sign convention for heat and work :

1.If the heat is adding to the system then it is taken as positive and if heat is going out from the system then it is taken as negative.

2. If the work is done on the system then it is taken as negative and if the work is done by the system then it is taken as positive.

From hot reservoir heat is going out that is why it is taken as negative

Q_H

From cold reservoir heat is coming inside the reservoir that is why it is taken as positive

Q_C>0

That is why the answer will be

Q_H ,Q_C>0
