Answer:

a. The angle of elevation should be less than 4.8 ° since that is the maximum standard.

b. The angle of elevation is 3.4°.  25 ft is long enough for the straight line distance of the ramp to meet the requirement .

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard required angle of elevation must have an angle of elevation not more than 4.8°.

A builder needs to install the ramp to reach a door that is 1.5 ft off the ground . The angle of elevation can be calculated as follows :

The illustration forms a right angle triangle .

opposite side = 1.5 ft

adjacent side = a

The angle of elevation should be less than 4.8 ° since that is the maximum standard.

Is 25 feet long enough for the straight line distance of the ramp to meet the requirements? What angle of elevation will this ramp have?

opposite side = 1.5 ft

adjacent side = 25 ft

∅ = angle of elevation

Using SOHCAHTOA principle

tan ∅ = 1.5/25

∅ =  arctan 0.06

∅ = 3.433630362

The angle of elevation is 3.4°.

25 ft is long enough for the straight line distance of the ramp to meet the requirement .

vichka [17]

Answer: The answer is A 17in2

Step-by-step explanation:

In the question it states that the triangles are congruent (both the same).

first I found the area of the top orange triangle.

the formula to find the area of a triangle is \frac{1}{2} bh (base times Height).

so I did  \frac{1}{2} 3.23* 5.12  which gave me 8.27.

Since the triangles are congruent (the same) they would both have the same area along with base and height. so I multiplied 8.27 by 2 (because there are two triangles) and got 16.54 which rounds up to 17.

the question also stated to find the APPROXIMATE area (close to the actual, but not completely accurate or exact.)

Aleks04 [339]

Answer:

99% Confidence interval: (0.185,0.375)

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Sample size, n = 150

Number of cars that have faulty catalytic converters, x = 42

\hat{p} = \dfrac{x}{n} = \dfrac{42}{150} = 0.28

99% Confidence interval:

\hat{p}\pm z_{stat}\sqrt{\dfrac{\hat{p}(1-\hat{p})}{n}}

z_{critical}\text{ at}~\alpha_{0.01} = \pm 2.58

Putting the values, we get:

0.28\pm 2.58(\sqrt{\frac{0.28(1-0.28)}{150}}) = 0.28\pm 0.095\\\\=(0.185,0.375)

The 99% confidence interval for the true proportion of new cars with faulty catalytic converters is (0.185,0.375)
