Answer:

\dfrac{d\theta}{dt}= 0.293\ rad/s

Explanation:

horizontal distance traveled by the bird is equal to be x

given,

height of the bird above his head = 25 m

angle between them is equal to θ

\dfrac{dx}{dt} = 9 m/s

d² = x² + y²

\theta = tan^{-1}{\dfrac{x}{25}}

\dfrac{d\theta}{dx}= \dfrac{1}{1+(\dfrac{x}{25})^2}\times(\dfrac{1}{25})

\dfrac{d\theta}{dx}= \dfrac{25}{x^2+625}

now,

\dfrac{d\theta}{dt}= \dfrac{d\theta}{dx}\times \dfrac{dx}{dt}

\dfrac{d\theta}{dt}= \dfrac{25}{x^2+625}\times 9

\dfrac{d\theta}{dt}= \dfrac{225}{x^2+625}

at x = 12 m

\dfrac{d\theta}{dt}= \dfrac{225}{12^2+625}

\dfrac{d\theta}{dt}= 0.293\ rad/s

If the force of gravity between a book of mass 0.50 kg and a calculator of 0.100 kg is 1.5 × 10-10 N, how far apart are they?  (
valkas [14]
The gravitational force between two masses m₁ and m₂ is
F=G \frac{m_{1} m_{2}}{d^{2}}
where
G = 6.67408 x 10⁻¹¹ m³/(kg-s²), the gravitational constant
d =  distance between the masses.

Given:
F = 1.5 x 10⁻¹⁰ N
m₁ = 0.50 kg
m₂ = 0.1 kg

Therefore
1.5 x 10⁻¹⁰ N = (6.67408 x 10⁻¹¹ m³/(kg-s²))*[(0.5*0.1)/(d m)²]
d² = [(6.67408x10⁻¹¹)*(0.5*0.1)]/1.5x10⁻¹⁰
     = 0.0222
d = 0.1492 m = 149.2 mm

Two vectors A and B are directed such that there is an angle θ between them. show answer Incorrect Answer Which of the following
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

Scalar product is between ║A║ ║ B║ and  -║A║ ║ B║

Explanation:

Dot product between vec A and vec B is

A.B  = ║A║ ║ B║  cos θ

Here, both ║A║ and ║B║ are positive and value of cos θ depends upon θ  and lies between 1 and -1

So, Scalar product is between ║A║ ║ B║ and  -║A║ ║ B║

lutik1710 [3]

Answer:

Part a)

E = 3.66 eV

Part b)

\lambda = 508.5 nm

Explanation:

Part a)

change in the energy due to decay of photon is given as

E = h\nu

here we know that

\nu = 8.88 \times 10^{14} Hz

now we have

E = (6.6 \times 10^{-34})(8.88 \times 10^{14})

E = 5.86 \times 10^{-19} J

E = 3.66 eV

Part b)

While electron return to its ground state it will emit a photon of energy 2/3rd of the total energy

so we have

\Delta E = \frac{2}{3}(3.66 eV)

\Delta E = 2.44 eV

now to find the wavelength we have

\Delta E = \frac{hc}{\lambda}

2.44 = \frac{1242}{\lambda}

\lambda = 508.5 nm
