English

Answer:

The correct answer is: No, slurping the soup is not considered as refined.

Explanation:

When sitting in a table to eat with company it is polite and refined to make the  least possible sound in order to avoid irritating the other person or persons and to manifesting a civil and graciously way to eat.

This is the first reason why slurping the soup it is seen as unrefined, for this is an action of soaking a liquid noisily, which is rude because slurping it is literally making noises with your mouth while taking food to your mouth.

But there is a second reason, which is that using<em> cutlery for food</em> in a gracious way it is a manifestation of graciousness and civility for you do not eat like an animal but as a person with manners. So, as soup is not a drink it should not be taken directly from the plate slurping from it (as drinks are taken directly from glasses), but instead it is polite to use a spoon to eat the content of the plate (soup), avoiding drops and sounds that could be rude to companions.

It isnt dark or sunny, because it clearly states "hidden in mist and cloud". So for a while i was between misty and cloudy. However I believe it is misty, because cloudy normally means that the sky is clouded, and in the passage it says that it is hidden. Now, i dont know about you, but clouds in the sky have never hidden anything but the sun from me. I think it means that it was as if there was a cloud on earth and that the cloud of mist hid where the men of winter live. Therefore, I believe the answer is the second choice, misty. Hope that helps! Please vote this answer the branliest, too! :)

Answer:

The correct option described second is <em>"The tone is the same, but the word choice is less formal, probably for a  younger reading audience."</em>

Explanation:

Replacing <em>"of the Victorian era"</em> with <em>"during a period of time known as the Victorian era" </em>shows less formality and a bit more explanation for younger readers.

Also <em>"distinguished" </em>is replaced with <em>"respected"</em> which is less formal and easier to be understood by younger readers.

The replacement of <em>"Her  poetry influenced ..... and Emily Dickinson"</em> in first version with this long sentence <em>"Her poetry  was very  ............. by Ms. Browning"</em>  in second version reduces formality to make it easier to understand for younger audience.
