Answer: The percentage concentration by mass of a solution that contains 0.098 kg of H_2SO_4 in 500.0 g of H_2O is 16.4%

Explanation:

To calculate the mass percentage ,we use the formula:

\text{Mass percent}=\frac{\text{Mass of} H_2SO_4}{\text{Molar mass of} H_2SO_4+mass of water}\times 100

Mass of H_2SO_4 = 0.098 kg= 98 g

Mass of water = 500 g

Putting values in above equation, we get:

\text{Mass percent}=\frac{98g}{98+500}\times 100=16.4\%

Hence, percentage concentration by mass of a solution that contains 0.098 kg of H_2SO_4 in 500.0 g of H_2O is 16.4%

Mass of solute  in g :

1 kg ---------- 1000 g
0.098 kg ------ ??

0.098 x 1000 / 1 => 98.0 g

mass of solvent = 500.0 g

Therefore:

% ( w/w ) = 98.0 / 98.0 + 500.0

% (w/w ) = 98.0 / 598.0

0.163 x 100 =>  16.3 %

The balloon Spirit of Freedom, flown around the world by American Steve Fossett in 2002, contained 550,000 cubic feet of helium.
Elodia [21]
Assuming the balloon initially has volume of 0 when deflated, the total P(deltaV) = (1.00 atm)(550,000 ft^3) = 550,000 atm-ft^3. To convert into work units, we can first convert ft^3 to L:
(550,000 atm-ft^3)(1 m/3.28 ft)^3
= (15,586.2 atm-m^3)
Then we convert to L:
(15,586.2 atm-m^3)(1000 L/m^3)
= 15,586,200 atm-L
Then we convert to J:
(15,586,200 atm-L)(101.325 J / 1 atm-L)
= 1.579 x 10^9 J

Why is a ylid a stable nucleophile? Select all that apply. Group of answer choices The proximity of the positively charged phosp
pogonyaev

Answer:

1)The proximity of the positively charged phosphorous and negatively charged carbon stabilizes the charges.

2) Inductive effects and resonance stabilize the negative charge

Explanation:

both atoms have full octets of electrons( I.e Carbon and say phosphorus). The result can be viewed as a structure in which two adjacent atoms are connected by both a covalent and an ionic bond; normally written X+–Y−. Ylides are thus 1,2-dipolar compounds, and a subclass of zwitterions

pantera1 [17]

Answer:

The rate law may be determined only by experiment.

Explanation:

For a reaction, A + B ---> C, the rate law can only be determined from experimental data. Chemists determine the rate of reaction by carefully observing the changes in the concentration of species as the reaction progresses.

Hence, the rate law is not determined by inspection of the chemical reaction equation, it must be obtained from the experimental data, hence the answer given.
