Write the net ionic equation for the reaction of zinc metal with aqueous iron(II) nitrate. Include physical states.
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

Zn°(s) + Fe⁺²(aq)  => Zn⁺²(aq) + Fe°(s)

Explanation:

Molecular Equation:

Zn°(s) + Fe(NO₃)₂(aq) => Zn(NO₃)₂(aq) + Fe°(s)

Ionic Equation:

Zn°(s) + Fe⁺²(aq) + 2NO₃⁻(aq) => Zn⁺²(aq) + 2NO₃⁻(aq) + Fe°(s)

Net Ionic Equation: => Drop NO₃⁻ as spectator ion

Zn°(s) + Fe⁺²(aq)  => Zn⁺²(aq) + Fe°(s)

What atomic or hybrid orbitals make up the bond between c2 and o in acetaldehyde, ch3cho?
SSSSS [86.1K]

Acetaldehyde is an organic compound (a compound containing C atoms) composed of a carbonyl group. On the other hand, a carbonyl group is a functional group containing C = O. The hybrid orbitals of a compound determines the number pi and s orbitals in the electronic configuration. For a single bond, there are two s orbitals. For double bonds, on the other hand, the number of s orbital bond is 1 while the number of pi bonds is 2. For triple bonds, there are three pi bonds present in the cloud.

Thus for a c = O bond, the atomic orbital configuration is sp3 containing 1 s orbital and 2 pi bonds.

The target diol is synthesized in one step from 1-methylcyclopentene, but your lab partner exhausted the supply of that alkene.
andrezito [222]

Answer:

The reagents are CH_{3}CH_{3}O^{-},OsO_{4},NaHSO_{3}and H_{2}O.

Explanation:

1-Methylenecyclopentene is treated with HBr form 1-bromo-1-methylcyclopentane, which is treated with strong base ethoxide ion and forms 1-methylcyclopent-1-ene.

This alkene is treated with osmium tetraoxide in the presence of sodium bisulfite to form target product.

The chemical reaction is as follows.
