2NaOH + H₂SO₄ = Na₂SO₄ + 2H₂O

v(H₂SO₄)=0.25 L
c(H₂SO₄)=2.00 mol/L
v(NaOH)=2.00 L

n(H₂SO₄)=c(H₂SO₄)v(H₂SO₄)
n(NaOH)=2n(H₂SO₄)=2c(H₂SO₄)v(H₂SO₄)

c(NaOH)=n(NaOH)/v(NaOH)=2c(H₂SO₄)v(H₂SO₄)/v(NaOH)

c(NaOH)=2*2.00*0.25/2.00=0.5 mol/L

the concentration of solution of NaOH is 0.5 mol/L

Answer: The molarity of the NaOH solution is 0.5 M.

Explanation:

Moles of H_2SO_4 in 0.25 L of 2.00 M solution:

Molarity=\frac{\text{Moles of }H_2SO_4}{\text{Volume in Liters of}H_2SO_4}

2.00 M=\frac{\text{Moles of }H_2SO_4}{0.25 L}

Moles of H_2SO_4 = 2.00 mol/L × 0.25 L = 0.5 moles

Moles of NaOH in 2.00 L of an unknown Molarity :

H_2SO_4+2NaOH\rightarrow Na_2SO_4+2H_2O

1 mole H_2SO_4 gives 2 moles of H^+ ions.

Then 0.5 mole H_2SO_4 will give: 0.5 mol × 2 = 1.0 mol

1.0 mol of H^+ will neutralize the 1.0 mol of OH^- ions.

Moles of H^+ = Moles of OH^- = 1.0 moles

1 mol of OH^-are produced by 1 mol of NaOH

The 1 mole of OH^-will be produced from = 1 mol of NaOH

Molarity=\frac{\text{Moles of }NaOH}{\text{Volume in Liters of NaOH}}

M=\frac{1 mol}{2.00L}=0.5 mol/L=0.5M

The molarity of the NaOH solution is 0.5 M.

How many grams of K2CO3 would you need to put on the spill to neutralize the acid according to the following equation? 2HBr(aq)+
Mkey [24]

Full Question:

A flask containing 420 Ml of 0.450 M HBr was accidentally knocked to the floor.?

How many grams of K2CO3 would you need to put on the spill to neutralize the acid according to the following equation?

2HBr(aq)+K2CO3(aq) ---> 2KBr(aq) + CO1(g) + H2O(l)

Answer:

13.1 g K2CO3 required to neutralize spill

Explanation:

2HBr(aq) + K2CO3(aq) → 2KBr(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O(l)

Number of moles = Volume * Molar Concentration

moles HBr= 0.42L x .45 M= 0.189 moles HBr

From the stoichiometry of the reaction;

1 mole of K2CO3 reacts  with 2 moles of HBr

1 mole = 2 mole

x mole = 0.189

x = 0.189 / 2 = 0.0945 moles

Mass = Number of moles * Molar mass

Mass = 0.0945 * 138.21  = 13.1 g

If you were to perform the reaction KCl (s)→K+ (g)+ Cl−(g), would energy be absorbed or released? Lattice Energies for Some Ioni
lina2011 [118]

Answer:

Energy would be absorbed.

Explanation:

Lattice energy is defined as the energy required to break apart an ionic solid and convert its component atoms into gaseous ions. That is what you're doing in:

KCl (s) → K⁺(g) + Cl⁻(g)

The energy you require to obtain this reaction is 701 kJ/mol. As the value is positive, <em>energy would be absorbed.</em>

Answer:

Almost all corn oil is expeller-pressed

Explanation:

then solvent-extracted using hexane or 2-methylpentane (isohexane). The solvent is evaporated from the corn oil, recovered, and re-used. After extraction, the corn oil is then refined by degumming and/or alkali treatment, both of which remove phosphatides.Oct 16, 2020
