What happens is the potential value of the conductor decreases due to the presence of second conductor
as the capacitance is given by C = q/v
the value of v deceases as v-v1
thus the new capacitance is = C' = q/v-v1 thus the lowering of v increases the capacitance

A certain 100W light bulb has an efficiency of 95%. How much thermal energy will this light bulb add to the inside of a room in
Usimov [2.4K]
Since the bulb consumes 100 watts of power and its efficiency is 95%,
it generates 95 watts of light energy and 5 watts of heat energy whenever
it's turned on.

5 watts means  5 joules of energy per second.

(2.5 hours) x (3,600 seconds/hour) =  9,000 seconds

(9,000 seconds) x (5 joules/second)  =  45,000 joules of heat in 2.5 hours

Answer: v= 1.23 m/s θ = 75.3º

Explanation:

First of all, we define the direction in which both fruits are tossed as the x axis, so all initial momenta have horizontal components only.

Now, if no external forces act during collision (due to the infinitesimal time during which collision takes place) momentum must be conserved.

As momentum is a vector, both components must be conserved, so we can write the following equations:

p₁ₓ = p₂ₓ ⇒ -m₁ . vi₁ +m₂. vi₂ = m₁ . vf₁ . cos θ  (1)

p₁y = p₂y ⇒ 0 =m₂ . vf₂ - m₁. vf₁. sin θ (2)

Replacing by the values of m1, m₂, vi₁, vi₂, and vf₂, we can calculate the value of the angle θ, that the apple forms with the horizontal, as follows:

(1) -0.13 Kg. 1.05 m/s + 0.15 Kg. 1.18 m/s = 0.13. vf . cos θ

(2) 0.15 Kg. 1.03 m/s = 0.13 vf. sin θ

sin θ / cos θ = 3.82 ⇒ tg θ = 3.82 ⇒ θ = arc tg (3.82) = 75.3º

Replacing this value of θ in (2), we get:

0.15 kg. 1.03 m/s = 0.13 vf . sin 75.3º = 0.13 . vf . 0.967

Solving for vf, we get:

vf = 0.15 kg. 1.03 m/s / 0.13. 0.967 = 1.23 m/s

The sound source of a ship’s sonar system operates at a frequency of 22.0 kHz . The speed of sound in water (assumed to be at a
stepladder [879]

Answer:

147.45 Hz

\Delta f=f_{Lr}-f_{Se}

Explanation:

v = Speed of sound in water = 1482 m/s

v_w = Speed of whale = 4.95 m/s

The difference in frequency is given by

\Delta f=f\dfrac{v+v_w}{v-v_w}-f\dfrac{v}{v-v_w}\\\Rightarrow \Delta f=f_{Lr}-f_{Se}

Frequency of the wave in stationary condition

f_{Lr}=f\dfrac{v+v_w}{v-v_w}

Ship's frequency which is reflected back

f_{Se}=f\dfrac{v}{v-v_w}

f_{Se}=22\ kHz

\mathbf{\Delta f=f_{Lr}-f_{Se}}

\Delta f=f_{Lr}-f_{Se}\\\Rightarrow \Delta f=22\times \dfrac{1482+4.95}{1482-4.95}-22\\\Rightarrow \Delta f=0.14745\ kHz\\\Rightarrow \Delta f=147.45\ Hz

The difference in wavelength is 147.45 Hz

The electric force between two charged vinyl balloons is 3.0 × 10-3 newtons. If the distance between them is 6.0 × 10-2 meters a
irakobra [83]
The electric force between two objects can be understood by looking at Coulomb's Law. The law states that the electric force is directly proportional to the charges of the 2 objects, and inversely proportional as the square of the distance. This is shown below:

F = (k * Q1 * Q2) / d^2

Where: k = proportionality constant; Q1 = charge of object 1; Q2 = charge of object 2; d = distance between objects.

Given:

F = <span>3.0 × 10^-3 N
Q1 = </span>3.3 × 10^-8 coulombs<span>
Q2 = ?
d = </span><span>6.0 × 10^-2 m
</span><span>k = 9.0 × 10^9

Substituting:

3 x 10^-3 = (9 x 10^9 * 3.3 x 10^-8 * Q2) / (6 x 10^-2)^2
[(</span>3 x 10^-3) * (6 x 10^-2)^2] / [(<span>9 x 10^9) * (3.3 x 10^-8)</span>] = Q2
Q2 = 3.636 x 10^-8 coulombs
