Answer is: 6,48 mol of GeF₄ are needed.
Chemical reaction: GeH₄ + 3GeF₄ → 4GeF₃<span>H.
n(</span>GeF₃H) = 8 mol.
n(GeF₄) = ?
from chemical reaction: n(GeF₃H) : n(GeF₄) = 4 : 3.
8 mol : n(GeF₄) = 4 : 3.
4n(GeF₄) = 24 mol.
n(GeF₄) = 6 mol ÷ 0,926.
n(GeF₄) = 6,48 mol.

Answer : The number of moles of GeF_4 needed to produce 8 mole of GeF_3H are, 6.48 moles.

Explanation :

The given balanced chemical reaction is:

GeH_4+3GeF_4\rightarrow 4GeF_3H

First we have to calculate the moles of GeF_4

From the balanced chemical reaction we conclude that,

As, 4 moles of GeF_3H produced from 3 mole of GeF_4

So, 8 moles of GeF_3H produced from \frac{8}{4}\times 3=6 mole of GeF_4

Now we have to calculate the moles of GeF_4 when the reaction yield is 92.6 %.

As, 92.6 % yield produced from 6 moles of GeF_4

So, 100 % yield produced from \frac{100\%}{92.6\%}\times 6=6.48 moles of GeF_4

Therefore, the number of moles of GeF_4 needed to produce 8 mole of GeF_3H are, 6.48 moles.

This is an ideal gas problem. The gas inside the balloon is considered ideal. Ideal gas equation is a function pressure, temperature, amount and volume. Note: amount is constant since the balloon ins closed. Pressure is maintained constant since the walls are flexible. Ideal gas equation is: PV=nRT. Put all constant in one side and variables in one.

Natali [406]

Answer: option C. 2 and 3.

Explanation:

1) Isotopes are atoms of a same element with different number of neutrons. That means that the isotopes of a same element have the same number of protons, since the number of protons is what identify an element.

2) For example, all the atoms of oxygen have 8 protons. But isotope oxygen-16 has 8 neutrons, while oxygen-18 has 10 neutrons.

3) In the figure there are 3 different atoms:

i) atom # 1 has 5 protons and 7 neutrons

ii) atom # 2 has 6 protons and 7 neutrons

iii) atom # 3 has 6 protons and 8 neutrons.

4) Hence the atoms with the same number of protons and different number of neutrons are the #2 and the # 3. So, they are the isotopes of the same element.
