We are looking for:
Tension A=?
Tension B=?
Then convert grams to kilograms
1kg = 1000g
300g= 0.3 kg
900g= 0.9kg
Given:
mA= 0.3kg
mB= 0.9kg
how? W=mg
g= 9.8 m/s^2
ay= 0.700m/s^2
WA= 2.94N

WB= 8.82N
For A [Tension A-Weight A - Tension B=mAay]
TA - 2.94 - TB=0.3kg(0.700m/s^2)
TA - 2.94 - TB = 0.21 N
TA - TB = 0.21N + 2.94 N
TA - TB = 3.15 N
* refer TB from below*
TA - TB = 3.15N
TA - 9.45N = 3.15N
TA = 3.15N + 9.45N
TA = 12.6N

For B F = ma
Summation of forces along y-axis = mBay
-8.82 N + TB = 0.9 kg(0.700 m/s^2)
-8.82N + TB = 0.63 N
TB = 0.63 N + 8.82 N
TB = 9.45 N

Answer:

First we need to analyse each mass and all the forces that interact with each of them. To do that, we use a free-body diagram and from that it'll be easier to analyse all the forces and write the mathematical relation between them, each free-body diagram is attached.

<h3>From these diagrams and using Newton's Law \sum F=ma, we define a equation for each mass.</h3><h3>Mass 1:</h3>

\sum F_{y_{1}}= m_{1} a

T_{1}-T_{2}-W_{1}=m_{1} a\\T_{1}=m_{1} a+T_{2}+W_{1}\\T_{1}=(0.3kg)(0.7m/s^{2} )+T_{2}+(0.3kg)(9.8m/s^{2} )\\T_{1}=(0.21 +T_{2}+2.94)N\\T_{1}=(3.15+T_{2})N

Now, we need to find a expression for the second tension and solve the equation.

<h3>Mass 2:</h3>

\sum F_{y_{2} }= m_{2} a\\T_{2}-W_{2} =m_{2} a\\T_{2}=m_{2} a+W_{2}\\T_{2}=(0.90kg)(0.7m/s^{2})+(0.90kg)(9.8m/s^{2} )\\T_{2}=(0.63+8.82)N\\T_{2}=9.45N

Now, we replace the second tension in the first equation:

T_{1}=(3.15+T_{2})N=(3.15+9.45)N=12.6N

Therefore, with an upward acceleration, the tensions are T_{2}=9.45N and T_{1}=12.6N.

<h3>On the other hand, we downwards acceleration, we just need to change 0.7  by -0.7, and then solve.</h3>

T_{2}=(0.90kg)(-0.7m/s^{2})+(0.90kg)(9.8m/s^{2} )=(-0.63+8.82)N=8.19N.

T_{1}=(0.3kg)(-0.7m/s^{2} )+T_{2}+(0.3kg)(9.8m/s^{2})=(-0.21+8.19+2.94)N=10.92.

Therefore, with downwards acceleration, tensions would be T_{1}=10.92 and T_{2}8.19N.

Allisa [31]

Answer:

the expression of current in the loop enclosed to the left of the capacitor plate is

I(t) = \frac{1}{\mu_0}\int B. dL

Explanation:

As we know by Ampere's law that line integral of magnetic field around a closed loop is proportional to the current enclosed in the path

So we will have

\int B. dL = \mu_0 I(t)

so we have

I(t) = \frac{1}{\mu_0}\int B. dL

so above is the expression of current in the loop enclosed to the left of the capacitor plate

Heat is allowed to flow from the heat source of a heat engine at 425 K to a cold sink at 313 K. What is the efficiency of the he
olga2289 [7]
I assume here that the engine operates following a Carnot cycle, which achieves the maximum possible efficiency.

Under this assumption, the efficiency of the engine (so, the efficiency of the Carnot cycle) is given by
\eta = 1- \frac{T_{cold}}{T_{hot}}
where
T_{cold} is the cold temperature
T_{hot} is the hot temperature

For the engine in our problem, the cold temperature is 313 K while the hot temperature is 425 K, so the effiency of the engine is
\eta=1- \frac{313 K}{425 K}=0.264 = 26.4 \%

Hot combustion gases enter the nozzle of a turbojet engine at 260 kpa, 747oc, and 80 m/s. the gases exit at a pressure of 85 kpa
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Hot combustion gases are accelerated in a 92% efficient adiabatic nozzle from low velocity to a specified velocity. The exit velocity and the exit temp are to be determined.

Given:

T1 = 1020 K à h1 = 1068.89 kJ/kg, Pr1 = 123.4

P1 = 260 kPa

T1 = 747 degrees Celsius

V1 = 80 m/s ->nN = 92% -> P2 = 85 kPa

Solution:

From the isentropic relation,

Pr2<span> = (P2 / P1)PR1 = (85 kPa / 260 kPa) (123.4) = 40.34 = h2s = 783.92 kJ/kg</span>

There is only one inlet and one exit, and thus, m1 = m2 = m3. We take the nozzle as the system, which is a control volume since mass crosses the boundary.

h2a = 1068.89 kJ/kg – (((728.2 m/s)2 – (80 m/s)2) / 2) (1 kJ/kg / 1000 m2/s2) = 806.95 kJ/kg\

From the air table, we read T2a  = 786.3 K
