The molarity of solution made by diluting 26.5ml of 6.0ml hno3 to a volume of 250ml is calculated using the following formula

M1V1  =  M2V2,   where

M1  =  molality  1 (6.00m)
V1=  volume  1 (26.5  ml)
M2 = molarity  2(?)
v2=volume  2   (250)

M2 =  M1V1/V2

M2=  6  x26.5/250  =  0.636 M

Answer: The molarity of the diluted solution will be 0.636 M

Explanation:

To calculate the molarity of the diluted solution, we use the equation:

M_1V_1=M_2V_2

where,

M_1\text{ and }V_1 are the molarity and volume of the concentrated solution

M_2\text{ and }V_2 are the molarity and volume of diluted solution

We are given:

M_1=6M\\V_1=26.5mL\\M_2=?M\\V_2=250mL

Putting values in above equation, we get:

6\times 26.5=M_2\times 250\\\\M_2=0.636M

Hence, the molarity of the diluted solution will be 0.636 M

Describe the difference in structure between beH2 and CaH2
katen-ka-za [31]
Hello!

BeH₂ is a linear molecule, while CaH₂ is an angular molecule.

The difference between these two molecules is given by the number of electrons they have. Be is in the 2nd period of the Periodic table, and the ion Be⁺² doesn't have any free electron pairs when bonding to H. Ca is in the 4 period of the periodic table, meaning that it has more electrons, and the ion Ca⁺² has two free electron pairs when bonding to H that makes the molecule angular by pushing the bonds at an angle by sterical hindrance.

Select the simplest mole ratio for each substance. Glucose (C6H12O6): Sulfuric acid (H2SO4): Butene (C4H8):
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

1. In Glucose: C : H : O = 1 : 2 : 1

2. In Sulfuric acid: H : S : O = 2 : 1 : 4

3. In Butene: C : H = 1 : 2

Explanation:

Mole ratio is defined as the ratio of amounts in moles present in a compound. Simplest mole ratio basically means that the moles are present in the least whole number ratio.

  • In Glucose, (C_6H_{12}O_6)

Moles of Carbon atom = 6

Moles of Hydrogen atom = 12

Moles of Oxygen atom = 6

Mole ratio of the atoms: C : H : O :: 6 : 12 : 6

Making this, the simplest mole ratio C : H : O = 1 : 2 : 1

  • In Sulfuric acid, (H_2SO_4)

Moles of Sulfur atom = 1

Moles of Hydrogen atom = 2

Moles of Oxygen atom = 4

Mole ratio of the atoms: H : S : O = 2 : 1 : 4

  • In Butene, (C_4H_8)

Moles of Carbon atom = 4

Moles of Hydrogen atom = 8

Mole ratio of the atoms: C : H = 1 : 2

A solution contains 10.0 g pentane, C5H12, 20.0 g hexane, C6H14, and 10.0 g benzene, C6H6. What is the mole fraction of hexane?
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

b) 0.47

Explanation:

MwC5H12 = 72.15g/mol

⇒mol C5H12 = (10.0)*(mol/72.15)=0.1386molC5H12

MwC6H14=86.18g/mol

⇒molC6H14=(20.0)*(mol/86.18)=0,232

MwC6H6=78.11g/mol

⇒molC6H6=(10.0)*(mol/78.11)=0.128molC6H6

XC6H14=(0.232)/(0.1386+0.232+0,128)=0.465≅0.47
