The distance travel by the squirrel along the gliding path is \boxed{4.57{\text{ m}}}.

Further explanation:

Here, we have to calculate the actual distance travel by the squirrel along its gliding path.

As given that, when squirrel travel its path of the gliding is at 40^\circ with the horizontal as like angle of the depression.

The squirrel is at the height of 9{\text{ m}} from the ground on the first tree and the position of the second tree is at the distance of 3.5{\text{ m}} from the first tree.

Now, the squirrel glides from the first tree to the second tree not in the horizontal direction but at an angle of 40^\circ  in clockwise downward direction with the horizontal.

First of all we will draw the diagram as shown in figure attached below.

From figure,

The actual distance travel by the squirrel is AC.

So, in \Delta ABC, apply cosine rule,

\cos 40^\circ=\dfrac{{AB}}{{AC}}

Here, AB is the distance between the first and second tree.

From above equation,

AC = \dfrac{{AB}}{{\cos 40^\circ }}

Substitute the value of the AB as 3.5{\text{ m}} in the above equation.

\begin{aligned}AC&=\dfrac{{3.5}}{{\cos 40^\circ }}\\&=4.57{\text{ m}}\\\end{aligned}

Thus, the distance travel by the squirrel along the gliding path between the first and second tress is \boxed{4.57{\text{ m}}}.

The length of squirrel's glide path is <u>4.6 m</u>.

The squirrel starts from the point A of the tree 1 and glides along a straight line path AC at an angle 40° to the horizontal. It lands on another tree situated at a horizontal distance of 3.5 m from the first tree.

Refer the diagram attached.

In the ΔABC, ∠ACB =40° ( alternate interior angles)

cos(ACB)=\frac{BC}{AC}

Therefore,

AC=\frac{BC}{cos(ACB)}

Substitute 3.5 m for BC and 40°for ∠ACB.

AC=\frac{BC}{cos(ACB)}\\ =\frac{3.5 m}{cos40^o} \\ =4.5689m

The length of the squirrel's glide path is <u>4.6 m</u>

A man stands on his balcony, 130 feet above the ground. He looks at the ground, with his sight line forming an angle of 70° with
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

d =  380 feet

Explanation:

Height of man = perpendicular= 130 feet

Angle of depression = ∅ = 70 °

distance to bus stop from man = hypotenuse = d = 130 sec∅

As sec ∅ = 1 / cos∅

so d = 130 sec∅    or d = 130 / cos∅

d = 130 / cos(70°)

d =  380 feet

"The predictions of Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity were tested on a double pulsar system in January of 2004. His equati
Rasek [7]

Answer:

99.95%

Explanation:

A double pulsar system named PSR J0737-3039A/B  in Puppis constellation was discovered in the year 2003. Pulsars are second most densest object in the universe after black holes and they emit radio waves at regular intervals. This pair presented a great and natural setup to test the Theory of General Relativity presented by Einstein in 1915. In this theory Einstein had presented a set of equations on how the space-time fabric will be curved because of the very dense objects such as Neutron stars. It also predicted how the gravitational waves are created because of stars orbiting each other.

A team of astrophysicists led by Michael Kramer, conducted a study on how these gravitational waves will impact the time in which the radio waves emitted by pulsars will reach Earth. The result of the study proved the theory of General Relativity to be accurate up to 99.95%.

Calculate the average speed and average velocity of a complete round-trip in which the outgoing 250 km is covered at 95 km/h fol
ser-zykov [4K]

To solve this problem we will apply the concepts related to the kinematic equations of linear motion. From them we will consider speed as the distance traveled per unit of time. Said unit of time will be cleared to find the total time taken to travel the given distance. Later with the calculated average times and distances, we will obtain the average speed.

PART A)

The time taken to travel a distance of 250km with a speed of 95km/h is

t = \frac{d}{v}

t = \frac{250km}{95km/h}

t = 2.63h

Time taken for the lunch is

t = 1h

The time taken travel a distance of 250km with a speed of 55km/h

t = \frac{d}{v}

t = \frac{250}{55}

t = 4.54h

The total time taken is

t = t_{outgoing}+t_{lunch}}t_{return}

t = 2.63+1+4.54

t = 8.17h

The average speed is the ratio of total distance and total time

v = \frac{250+250}{8.17}

v = 61.15km/h

PART B)

As the displacement is zero the average velocity is zero.
