Livor mortis refers to the bluish-purple discoloration (lividity) under the skin of the lower body parts due to gravitation of blood after death. ... Dark pinpoint spots (Tardieu spots) are seen when capillaries rupture due to increased gravitational pressure (e.g. in the legs of a hanged person)

Explanation: Lividity is unnatural color or discoloration of the skin after death. It starts within 20-30 minutes of death, but is not visible by human eye until two hours. Amount of reduced haemoglobin determines the intensity of color. Capillaries bursts because of increased gravity.The body parts which are in contact with any object or ground are not affected by this because capillaries are compressed.

How many liters of a 0.0550 M NaF solution contain 0.163 moles of NaF?
Kobotan [32]

Answer : The volume of solution will be 2.96 liters.

Explanation :

Molarity : It is defined as the number of moles of solute present in one liter of volume of solution.

Formula used :

\text{Molarity}=\frac{\text{Moles of solute}}{\text{Volume of solution (in L)}}

In this question, the solute is NaF.

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get:

0.0550M=\frac{0.163mole}{\text{Volume of solution (in L)}}

\text{Volume of solution (in L)}=\frac{0.163mole}{0.0550M}

\text{Volume of solution (in L)}=2.96L

Therefore, the volume of solution will be 2.96 liters.

Iodine is blue-black, crystalline, and solid. It sublimes to a violet-colored gas and reacts with aluminum and many other metals
Pepsi [2]

Answer:

 • blue-black PHYSICAL PROPERTY
 • crystalline PHYSICAL PROPERTY
 • solid PHYSICAL PROPERTY
 • sublimes to a violet-colored gas PHYSICAL PROPERTY
 • reacts with aluminum and many other metals CHEMICAL PROPERTY

Explanation:

Chemical properties are visible through chemical reactions, in which the chemical identity changes to form new substances. On the other hand, physical properties are evident without a change in the identity of a substance.

Which of these five properties are physical and which are chemical?

 • blue-black PHYSICAL PROPERTY

As you may know, ethyl alcohol, C2H5OH, can be produced by the fermentation of grains, which contain glucose, C6H12O6 → +2C2H5OH
fredd [130]

Answer:

a. 510.6 g of C₂H₅OH are produced from 1kg of glucose

b. 171.1 g of glucose are required

Explanation:

Chemist reaction is this:

C₆H₁₂O₆ → 2C₂H₅OH(l) + 2CO₂(g)

So 1 mol of glucose can produce 1 mol of ethyl alcohol.

First of all, we should convert the mass to g, afterwards to moles

1 kg . 1000 g/ 1kg = 1000 g . 1 mol/180 g = 5.55 moles

Then we can think, this rule of three

1 mol of glucose can produce 2 moles of ethyl alcohol

Then 5.55 moles of glucose may produce the double of moles of C₂H₅OH

(5.55 .2)/1 = 11.1 moles.

Let's convert the moles to mass → 11.1 mol . 46g /1mol = 510.6 g

b. Let's determine the liters of ethyl alcohol we need.

1 gasohol is 10 mL C₂H₅OH / 90 ml of gasoline. We should make a rule of three.

In 90 mL of gasoline we have 10 mL of C₂H₅OH

In 1000 mL (1L) we would have (1000 . 10)/ 90 = 111.1 mL

Now we have to determine the mass of C₂H₅OH that is contained in the volume we have calculated. We must use the density.

Density = Mass /Volume

0.79 g/mL = Mass / 111.1 mL

0.79 g/mL . 111.1 mL = 87.7 g

Now, we convert the mass to moles → 87.7 g . 1mol/ 46g = 1.91 mol

Ratio is 2:1 so 2 moles of C₂H₅OH are produced by 1 mol of glucose

Therefore 1.91 mol would be produced by (1.91 .1)/2 = 0.954 moles

Finally we convert the moles of glucose to mass:

0.954 mol . 180 g/ 1mol = 171.7 grams.

Select the number of electrons each atom must gain or lose to have a full valence level. Use the periodic table if you need help
Lady bird [3.3K]
Calcium will loose one electron. Fluorine will gain one electron. Lithium will loose one electron. Argon will not loose any because it already has a full valence level. Aluminium will loose 3 electrons.
