We Know, W=mg, m=W/g

2009 N / 9.8 N/Kg = 205 Kg.

Answer

Mass of motorcycle is 205 kg .

Explanation:

Formula

w = mg

Where w is the weight of an object , m is the mass of an object and g is the acceleration of gravity .

As given

A motorcycle weighs 2009 newtons.

g = 9.8 N/kg for gravity.

w = 2009 N

Putting the values in the formula

2009 = m × 9.8

m = \frac{2009}{9.8}

m = \frac{20090}{98}

m = 205 kg

Therefore the mass of motorcycle is 205 kg .

dsp73

PART A)

Equivalent resistance in parallel is given as

\frac{1}{R} = \frac{1}{R_1} + \frac{1}{R_2} + \frac{1}{R_3}

now we have

\frac{1}{R} = \frac{1}{4} + \frac{1}{8} + \frac{1}{12}

R = 2.18 ohm

PART B)

since potential difference across all resistance will remain same as all are in parallel

so here we can use ohm's law

V = iR

for 4 ohm resistance we have

24 = 4(i)

i = 6 A

PART C)

since potential difference across all resistance will remain same as all are in parallel

so here we can use ohm's law

V = iR

for 8 ohm resistance we have

24 = 8(i)

i = 3 A

A physics student stands on the rim of the canyon and drops a rock. The student measures the time for it to reach the bottom to
madam [21]

Answer:

Canyon is 50.176 meter deep.

Explanation:

The students is standing on the rim of the canyon and drops down a rock from the rim(cliff). We have to find what is the depth of the canyon i.e. how much below is the ground from the cliff.

Given data:

Time = t = 3.2 s

Initial velocity = v_{i} = 0 m/s

Gravitational acceleration = g = 9.8 m/s²

Height = h = ?

According to second equation of motion

h = v_{i}t + \frac{1}{2}gt^{2}

As initial velocity is zero, So the first term of right hand side of above equation equal to zero

h = \frac{1}{2}gt^{2}

h = (0.5)(9.8)(3.2)²

h = 50.176 m

This means, the rock traveled 50.176 meters to reach the bottom of the Canyon. So, the Canyon is 50.176 meter deep.

If a force always acts perpendicular to an object's direction of motion, that force cannot change the object's kinetic energy.
laiz [17]
This is very good conceptual question and can clear your doubts regarding work-energy theorem.
Whenever force is perpendicular to the direction of the motion, work done by that force is zero.
According to work-energy theorem,
Work done by all the force = change in kinetic energy.

here, work done = 0.
Therefore,
0=change in kinetic energy
This means kinetic energy remains constant.
Hope this helps
