Answer:

A. Ahmed has a greater tangential speed than Jacques.

D. Jacques and Ahmed have the same angular speed.

Explanation:

Kinematics of the merry-go-round

The tangential speed of the merry-go-round is calculated using the following formula:

v = ω*R

Where:

v is the tangential speed in meters/second (m/s)

ω is the angular speed in radians/second (rad/s)

R is the angular speed in meters (m)

Data

dA = RA  : Ahmed distance to the axis of rotation

dJ = RJ   : Jacques distance to the axis of rotation

Problem development

We apply the formula (1)

v = ω*R

vA= ω*RA : Ahmed  tangential speed

vJ= ω*RJ  :  Jacques  tangential speed

Ahmed is at a greater distance from the axis of rotation than Jacques, then,

RA ˃ RJ and Ahmed and Jacques have the same  speed ω, then:

vA ˃ vJ

An athlete prepares to throw a 2.0-kilogram discus. His arm is 0.75 meters long. He spins around several times with the discus a
wlad13 [49]
Centripetal Force (Fcp) = ?

His arm length = Radius (R) = 0.75 m

Discus velocity = Linear Velocity (V) = 5 m/s

Discus mass (m) = 2 kg

Centripetal Acceleration (Acp) = V^2/R or W^2 x R
In this case i will use the V^2/R formula, because it uses the discus velocity (V).

fcp = m \times acp \\ fcp = m \times {v}^{2} \div r \\ fcp = 2 \times {5}^{2} \div 0.75 \\ fcp = 2 \times 25 \div 0.75 \\ fcp = 50 \div 0.75
fcp = 66.666... = 66 \: newtons

Answer: Last option, 66 N.

In Step 5, you will calculate H+/OH– ratios for more extreme pH solutions. Find the concentration of H+ ions to OH– ions listed
Liono4ka [1.6K]
You must know the concept of pH of a solution and its relation to the concentration of H+ and OH- ions. pH is a measure of the substance's acidity or basicity. From the definition of Arrhenius, an acid contains an H+ while a base contains a OH- ion. From this definition, we can say that an acidic substance has a higher concentration of H+ ions. Now, I'll introduce here that pH is the value of the negative logarithm of the concentration of H+. In equation,
pH = -log[H+]
The term pOH is therefore also, pOH = -log[OH-]. Therefore, the relationship that connects the two negative logarithms is:
pH + pOH = 14
The pH scale starts from 1 being the most acidic to 14 being the most basic. The neutral pH is 7. Thus, for a pH of 7, the H+ and the OH- concentrations are equal.
pH = 7 = -log[H+][H+] = 1×10⁻⁷ mol/L = [OH-]
Since the concentrations are equal, the ratio is equal to 1.
