Question:

Which of the following is not true of the wind?

A) It is initiated by the pressure gradient force.

B) It blows from regions of high pressure to regions of low pressure.

C) The direction of flow can be affected by the rotation of the Earth.

D) Air blows from regions of hotter air to regions of colder air.

E) Winds are named based on the direction from which they blow.

Answer:

The given statement "Air blows from regions of hotter air to regions of colder air" is not true of the wind.

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

The wind is the form of energy transfer in a wave when there is a change in the pressure gradient force. So, the air molecules in the atmosphere will be exhibiting a different gradient force leading to their movement as the wind. As the air molecules present in higher density at high pressure will tend to release its energy by spreading themselves leading to low pressure.

And thus, the wind will be blowing from regions of high pressure to regions of low pressure. Mostly the winds are named based on the direction of their flow or blow and their direction gets affected by the rotation of the earth. So the only option that is air blows from regions of hotter air to regions of colder air is not true for wind.

Nataly [62]

Answer:R=1607556m

θ=180degrees

Explanation:

d1=74.8m

d2=160.7km=160.7km*1000

d2=160700m

d3=80m

d4=198.1m

Using analytical method :

Rx=-(160700+75*cos(41.8))= -160755.9m

Ry= -(74.8+75sin(41.8))-198.1=73m

Magnitude, R:

R=√Rx+Ry

R=√160755.9^2+20^2=160755.916

R=160756m

Direction,θ:

θ=arctan(Rx/Ry)

θ=arctan(-73/160755.9)

θ=-7.9256*10^-6

Note that θ is in the second quadrant, so add 180

θ=180-7.9256*10^6=180degrees

jeka57 [31]
A succession of single tones or pitches perceived as a unit is called a melody. It is a linear succesion of tones in music that is seen as one single entity. It is a combination of rhythm, pitch and tonal color. Melodies usually has one ormore motifs or phrases that are being repeated all throughout a composition. Melodies are characterized by the melodic motion it posses , the pitch, intervals between the pitches, continuity and pitch range. Due to the a wide range of melodies that can be made from tones, differet genres of music arise. Examples are Jazz, Rock music, Classical, pop, R&B and the like.

You buy a AA battery in the store, and it is marked 1.5 V. If this marking is strictly accurate, while this battery is fresh its
vitfil [10]

Answer:

Option A is correct.

when it is used in a circuit. its terminal voltage will be less than 1.5 V.

Explanation:

The terminal voltage of the battery when it is in use in circuits drops lower than the 1.5 V rating given to it due to internal resistance.

All batteries give internal resistances when used in circuits. The internal resistance (though very small) is usually modelled as connected in series with the battery. It is due to some form of interference from the chemical makeup of the battery.

Normally, while the battery is fresh, the voltage (V) obtained at its terminals when connected in series with a resistor of resistance R is V = IR; where I is the current flowing in this circuit.

But once the interenal resistance (r) of the battery comes into play,

V = I₁ (r + R)

The current in the circuit evidently drops (that is I₁ < I) and V = (I₁r + I₁R)

The voltage across the terminals of the battery is no longer V but is now (V) × [R/(R+r)] which is less than the initial V and it reduces as the internal resistance, r, increases.

Hope this Helps!!!
