Perimeter is  8 + √(10) units.

Step-by-step explanation:

First we have to find the distance between the all the 3 points and then using the distances, we can find the sum of it, so that we will get the perimeter of the triangle.

The points are L(2,4) , M(-2,1) and N(-1,4)

Distance between the points can be found as,

√((x₂-x₁)² + (y₂-y₁)²)

Plugin the values in the given point, we will get LM as,

LM = √((-2-2)² + (1-4)²)

    = √((-4)² + (-3)²)

   = √(16 + 9) = √(25) = 5 units.

MN = √((-1-(-2))² + (4-1)²)

     = √((-1+2))² + (4-1)²)

    = √((1))² + (3)²)

    = √(1 + 9) = √(10)

NL = √((2-(-1))² + (4-4)²)

      = √((3)² + 0²) = √(9) = 3 units

Perimeter = LM + MN + NL = 5+ √(10) + 3 = 8 + √(10) units.

A marathon is 26.2 miles. If Sally ran a marathon in 3 hours and 3 minutes, what was her approximate pace?
ryzh [129]
A marathon is 26.2 miles which mean the distance = 26.2 miles

Sally ran a marathon in 3 hours and 3 minutes which mean the time taken to finish the marathon = 3 hours and 3 minutes
∴ distance = 26.2 miles
time = 3 hours and 3 minutes = 3 + 3/60 = 3.05 hours
∴ the approximate pace = speed = \frac{distance}{time}

∴ the approximate pace = 26.2/3.05 ≈ 8.59 miles per hour

∴ The answer is her approximate pace = 8.59 mile/h

Jada created the two-way table below to describe the performance of her basketball team this season.
kramer
To answer the question, all the statements must be analyzed with the data presented in the table.
From the table we get that the team played 16 games at home and 11 games away from home.
  In total, they played 27 games.
Of the 16 games at home, the team won 6. Then, the proportion of games won at home is:
6/16 = 0.375.
  Of the 11 games away from home, the team won 3. Then the proportion of games won away from home is:
  3/11 = 0.272.
  0.375 is not twice 0.272.
  Then the first statement is incorrect.

The ratio of games won at home is 6/16 = 3/8. Therefore, the second statement is incorrect. The team does not win 3/5 of the games at home.
The total number of games won is 9 and the total number of games is 27.
So, the third statement is incorrect. The team does not win half of the games.
The fourth statement is true. The team played 27 games

The fifth statement is false because the team won more than 6 games. They won 3 games away from home and 6 games at home

Finally, the sixth statement is correct, because the team lost 10 games at home and 8 away from home. However, the PERCENTAGE of games lost away from home is greater than the PERCENTAGE of games lost at home. Therefore, it is more likely that the team loses when playing away from home.

A store purchased a DVD for $12.00 and sold it to a customer for 50% more than the purchase price.The customer was charged a 7%
Tems11 [23]

Answer:

The customer's total cost for the DVD is $19.26

Step-by-step explanation:

Store buy the dvd for $12.00.

The store price is $12.00+50% more

The store price= $12.00 *(1+0.5)= $18.00

Final price (tax added)= $18.00 + 7%

Final price= $18.00 * (1 + 0.07)= $19.26

If we let the domain be all animals, and S(x) = "x is a spider", I(x) = " x is an insect", D(x) = "x is a dragonfly", L(x) = "x
Sonbull [250]

Answer:

The conditional statement "∀x, If x is an insect, then x has six legs" is derived from the statement "All insects have six legs" using "a. existential" generalization

Step-by-step explanation:

In predicate logic, existential generalization is a valid rule of inference that allows one to move from a specific statement, or one instance, to a quantified generalized statement, or existential proposition. In first-order logic, it is often used as a rule for the existential quantifier in formal proofs.
