you are hiking along a river and see a tall tree on thhe opposite bank. You measure the angle of elevation of the top of the tre

e and find it to be 61 degree. You then walk 50 feet directly away from the tree and measure the angle of elevation. If the second measurement is 49.5 degree, how tall is the tree?

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the height of the tree is y and the distance of tree from point B is x.

According to the diagram

tan61 = \frac{y}{x}

x = 0.55 y ..... (1)

tan49.5 = \frac{y}{50+x}

(50 + 0.55y) 1.17 = y ..... from equation (1)

58.5 + 0.644 y = y

0.356 y = 58.5

y = 164.3 ft

Elodia [21]

Answer:

a) E=228391.8 N/C

b) E=-59345.91N/C

Explanation:

You can use Gauss law to find the net electric field produced by both line of charges.

\int \vec{E_1}\cdot d\vec{r}=\frac{\lambda_1}{\epsilon_o}\\\\E_1(2\pi r)=\frac{\lambda_1}{\epsilon_o}\\\\E_1=\frac{\lambda_1}{2\pi \epsilon_o r_1}\\\\\int \vec{E_2}\cdot d\vec{r}=\frac{\lambda_2}{\epsilon_o}\\\\E_2=\frac{\lambda_2}{2\pi \epsilon_o r_2}

Where E1 and E2 are the electric field generated at a distance of r1 and r2 respectively from the line of charges.

The net electric field at point r will be:

E=E_1+E_2=\frac{1}{2\pi \epsilon_o}(\frac{\lambda_1}{r_1}+\frac{\lambda_2}{r_2})

a) for y=0.200m, r1=0.200m and r2=0.200m:

E=\frac{1}{2\pi(8.85*10^{-12}C^2/Nm^2)}[\frac{4.80*10^{-6}C}{0.200m}-\frac{2.26*10^{-6}C}{0.200m}}]=228391.8N/C

b) for y=0.600m, r1=0.600m, r2=0.200m:

E=\frac{1}{2\pi(8.85*10^{-12}C^2/Nm^2)}[\frac{4.80*10^{-6}C}{0.600m}-\frac{2.26*10^{-6}C}{0.200m}}]=-59345.91N/C

Shutting the fluid discharge of an air-operated reciprocating pump will cause the pump to ?
Misha Larkins [42]
Had to look for the options and here is my answer. What happens when the fluid discharge of an air-operated reciprocating pump is shut, this will cause the pump to OVERSTROKE. Overstroke happens when the engine is switching in a normally-closed manner.

Mama L [17]

Answer:

Txomin lifted the stone with greater mass. (Txomin levantó la roca con mayor fuerza).

Explanation:

The sportsman that lifts the stone with a greater mass needs a higher force (El deportista que levanta la piedra con mayor masa necesita una mayor fuerza):

José

F = (200\,kg)\cdot \left(9.807\,\frac{m}{s^{2}} \right)

F = 1961.4\,N

Txomin

F = (220\,kg)\cdot \left(9.807\,\frac{m}{s^{2}} \right)

F = 2157.54\,N

Txomin lifted the stone with greater mass. (Txomin levantó la roca con mayor fuerza).

Shareen performs a skit to model a method of charging. In the skit, a painter shakes her hand and gets paint on her.
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:

It models conduction because the painter represents a charged object and the paint represents electrons that are transferred through contact.

Explanation:

Conduction phenomenon of charging is the process of charging in which two bodies are made in contact with each other so that charges are transferred due to potential difference of two bodies.

here we know that when hands are shake then it will have paint on it. so here due to hand shake the hands are in contact with charge particles and due to contact the electrons are transferred to the hand.

Now here we need to assume that charge of paint must be opposite that of the charge on the hand because only due to opposite charge attraction the paint must be transferred to the hand

SO here correct answer will be

It models conduction because the painter represents a charged object and the paint represents electrons that are transferred through contact.
