Answer: The oxidation state of iodine atom in the given compound is +5.

Explanation:

Oxidation state is the number that is assigned to an element when it gains or looses electrons. If an element gains electron, it will attain a negative oxidation state and if the element looses electrons, it will attain a positive oxidation state.

For the given chemical compound: Mg(IO_3)_2

We take the oxidation state of iodine atom be 'x'

Oxidation state of magnesium atom = +2

Oxidation state of oxygen atom = -2

Evaluating the oxidation state of iodine atom:

+2+2x+6(-2)=0\\\\x=+5

Hence, the oxidation state of iodine atom in the given compound is +5.

The oxidation number of iodine is 5 in Mg(IO3)2 which can be calculated as
   Mg(IO3)2
   MgI2O6
As we know that
Mg has +2
O has -2
So,
   (+2) + 2I + 6 (-2)=0
   2 + 2I - 12 =0
   10+ 2I =0
    10 = 2I
     I =5

Draw a second resonance structure for the following ion (be sure to include the charges and all lone pairs)... + ..N=N=N <---
joja [24]

Answer:

Explanation:

Resonance structure occurs in an organic compound that undergoes resonance effects. This resonance effect is sometimes called the mesomeric effect helps to increases the stability of organic compounds that have alternating single bonds and double bonds.

The second resonance structure diagram for the ion given in the question can be found in the attached diagram below.

. Un cuerpo irregular se introduce dentro de una probeta que inicialmente tiene un volumen de 20 ml como muestra la figura Despu
MrMuchimi

Answer:

Let's look at the molar weight of the answers:
NO is 30 g/mol
NO2 is 46
N2O is 44
N2O4 is 124

We have the grams of the product, so we need the moles in order to calculate the molar weight. We us PV=nRT for this, assuming standard temperature and pressure.
You were given the liters (.120L)
Std pressure is 1 atmosphere
You're looking for n, the number of moles
Temp is 293.15 kelvin, thats standard
And r is the gas constant in liters-atm per mol kelvin

(.120 liters)(1atm)=n(293.15K)(.08206)
Solving for n is .0049883835 mol

.23g divided by .0049883 mol is about 46g/mol. You're answer is B I think, NO2

I hope my answer has come to your help. Thank you for posting your question here in Brainly. We hope to answer more of your questions and inquiries soon. Have a nice day ahead!

For the reaction A (g) → 2 B (g), K = 14.7 at 298 K. What is the value of Q for this reaction at 298 K when ∆G = -20.5 kJ/mol?
harina [27]

Answer:

Q= 245 =2.5 * 10^2

Explanation:

ΔG = ΔGº + RTLnQ, so also ΔGº= - RTLnK

R= 8,314 J/molK, T=298K

ΔGº= - RTLnK = - 6659.3 J/mol = - 6.7 KJ/mol

ΔG = ΔGº + RTLnQ → -20.5KJ/mol = - 6.7 KJ/mol + 2.5KJ/mol* LnQ

→ 5.5 = LnQ → Q= 245 =2.5 * 10^2
