Answer:

The answer to your question is A. 0.0066 moles or 6.6 x 10⁻³ moles

                                                     B.    C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ + 12 O₂  ⇒  12 CO₂ +  11H₂O

Explanation:

A.

Data

mass of sugar water = 9 g

concentration = 25%

moles of sugar (C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁)

Formula

  Mass percent = mass of solute/mass of solution x 100

-Solve for mass of solute

Mass of solute = (mass percent x mass of solution) / 100

-Substitution

Mass of solute = (25 x 9)/100

-Result

Mass of solute = 225/100

                          = 2.25 g of sugar

-Calculate the molar mass of sugar

C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ = (12 x 12) + (22 x 1) + (11 x 16)

                = 144 + 22 + 176

                = 342 g

-Calculate the moles of sugar

                  342 g ---------------------- 1 mol

                    2.25 g -------------------  x

                    x = (2.25 x 1) / 342

                    x = 2.25/342

                    x = 0.0066 moles or 6.6 x 10⁻³ moles

B. Balanced chemical reaction

         C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ + 12 O₂  ⇒  12 CO₂ +  11H₂O

Arrange the following solids in order of decreasing solubility, CaF2, K sp=4.0 × 10-11; Ag2CO3, K sp=8.1 × 10-12; Ba3(PO4)2, K s
viva [34]

Answer:

CaF2 > Ag2CO3 > Ag3(PO4)2 > Ba3(PO4)2

Explanation:

Ksp which is solubility product konstant shows equilibrium between a solids and its respective ions in a solution. And the lower it is the less soluble the ion compound will be. And for CaF2 we have the highest konstant and for Ba3(PO4)2 we have it the lowest.

Why does 4.03/0.0000035 = 1.2 x 106, instead of a different number of significant figures?
jasenka [17]

Explanations:- As per the significant figures rule, In multiplication and division, we go with least number of sig figs.

4.03 has three sig figs where as 0.0000035 has two sig figs only, The zeros in this number are not sig figs as they are just holding the place values. As the least number of sig figs here is two, the answer needs to be reported with two sig figs only.

\frac{4.03}{0.0000035}=1.2*10^6

How many moles of nitrogen are in 3.7 moles of C8H11NO2?
Phoenix [80]

Answer:

               3.7 Moles of Nitrogen

Explanation:

                      On observing the chemical formula C₈H₁₁NO₂ (might be formula of Dopamine) it is found that one mole of this compound contains;

8 Moles of Carbon

11 Moles of hydrogen

1 Mole of Nitrogen and

2 Moles of Oxygen respectively.

Calculate Number of Moles of Nitrogen:

As,

                   1 Mole of C₈H₁₁NO₂ contains = 1 Mole of Nitrogen

So,

            3.7 Moles of C₈H₁₁NO₂ will contain = X Moles of Nitrogen

Solving for X,

                       X  =  (3.7 Moles × 1 Mole) ÷ 1 Mole

                       X  =  3.7 Moles of Nitrogen

Element M reacts with oxygen to form an oxide with the formula MO. When MO is dissolved in water, the resulting solution is basi
Tpy6a [65]

Answer:

Calcium

Explanation:

Since the element reacts with oxygen to form an oxide with the formula MO, the charge on the element is +2.

Also, since the oxide MO when dissolved in water is basic, the metal is an alkali earth metal.

From the above conditions;

The metal is not arsenic because arsenic is a metalloid has the following oxides As₂O₃ and As₃O₅ and are respectively amphoteric and acidic in nature

The metal is not germanium because is a metalloid and even though germanium oxide has the formula GeO₂, it is amphoteric.

The metal is not chlorine because chlorine is a non-metal

The metal is definitely calcium because calcium oxide has the formula CaO and calcium is an alkaline earth metal.

The metal is not selenium because selenium is anon-meal and its oxide has the formula Se0₂ and is acidic
