Answer:

Distance covered by the sound in air is 800 meter and the time taken by the sound in water for the same distance is 0.5 seconds.

Explanation:

Given:

Speed of sound in air = 320 m/s

Speed of sound in water = 1600 m/s

Time taken to reach certain distance in air = 2.5 sec

a.

We have to find the distance traveled by sound in air.

Distance = Product of speed and time.

⇒ Distance = Speed\times time\ taken

⇒ Distance = 320\times 2.5

⇒ Distance = 800 meters.

b.

Now we have to find how much time the sound will take to travel in water.

⇒ Time = Ratio of distance and speed

⇒ Time =\frac{distance}{speed}

⇒ Time =\frac{800}{1600}   <em>   ...distance = 800 m and speed = 1600 m/s</em>

⇒ Time =\frac{1}{2}

⇒ Time =0.5 seconds.

Distance covered by the sound in air is 800 meter and the time taken by the sound in water for the same distance is 0.5 seconds.

Convection can best be observed as she blows the warm steam air that rises.

As the warm steam rises,  she forces displaces it with cool air from her mouth. Because the warm steam is less dense it rises and because the cool air is more dense, it displaces the warm air.

This scenario is an example of convection.

The primary of a step-up transformer is connected across the terminals of a standard wall socket, and resistor 1 with a resistan
alexira [117]
The turns ratio is the factor that determines voltage andcurrent. In order to have the same current across the resistorin the primary as the resistor in the secondary, then:--N(p) = Primary turnsN(s) = Secondary turnsR(2) = Primary resistorR(1) = Secondary resistor--R(2)/R(1) = N(p)/N(s)R(2) = R(1)*(N(p)/N(s))--If arbitrary values are plugged in, you will see that this step up transformer will require 2x the resistance required in the secondary, R(1), to obtain the same current. Thus R(2) will be 1/2 the value of R(1). This is due to the stepped up voltage in the secondary.

What magnitude charge creates a 1.0 n/c electric field at a point 1.0 m away?
Stolb23 [73]

Answer:

1.1\cdot 10^{-10}C

Explanation:

The electric field produced by a single point charge is given by:

E=k\frac{q}{r^2}

where

k is the Coulomb's constant

q is the charge

r is the distance from the charge

In this problem, we have

E = 1.0 N/C (magnitude of the electric field)

r = 1.0 m (distance from the charge)

Solving the equation for q, we find the charge:

q=\frac{Er^2}{k}=\frac{(1.0 N/c)(1.0 m)^2}{9\cdot 10^9 Nm^2c^{-2}}=1.1\cdot 10^{-10}C

A boy uses a slingshot to launch a pebble straight up into the air. The pebble reaches a height of 37.0 m above the launch point
denis-greek [22]

Answer:

V0=27.4 m/s; t=0.8 s

Explanation:

Final position y=37.0 m, time = 2.3 s; Initial position is set to be zero. We calculate the initial speed with the kinematics equation:

y_f=v_0t-0.5*g*t^2 We solve for initial speed

v_0=\frac{y_f+0.5gt^2}{t}=\frac{37+4.9*2.3^2}{2.3}=27.4m/s

Now, using the same expression we estimated time to first reach 18.5 m :

18.5=27.4t-4.9t^2 Second order equation with solutions

t1=0.8 s and t2=4.8 s

The first time corresponds to the first reach.
