nd had to go back to get three extra boxes of tile. However, he only used two tiles from the last box to finish the job.
Felicia also retiled her kitchen. She bought five boxes of tile, and each box contained the same number of tiles as each of Bruce’s boxes. She also ran out of tile. She had to go back to the store and get five more tiles to finish the job.

In this activity, you’ll determine whether Bruce and Felicia used the same number of tiles and whose tiles cover the most area per tile.
Is it possible for Bruce and Felicia to have used the same number of tiles? Use complete sentences to explain your reasoning.

Answer:

Bruce's tile covers up more space.

Step-by-step explanation:

So as we know, Bruce covers up around 1/4 of square feet and to find felicia's function we have to used the data we already have. For example, x=6 tiles, y=1 sq ft and x=12 tiles, y=2 sq ft, then we set y=kx which then we can find the value of k, 1=6k, k=1/6 then y=1/6. We then test the function with x=12 and x=18, y=1/6 12=2 and y=1/6 18=3. When the function is complete, we see that Bruce's tiles cover up more space because 1/4>1/6.

Digiron [165]

Answer:

f(x) = -5x + 250

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets  explain how to solve the problem

- In week 10 the manufacturer fixed 200 cars

- In week 15, the manufacturer fixed 175 cars

- the reduction in the number of cars each week is linear

- The form of the linear equation is y = mx + c, where m is the slope of

 the line which represent the equation and c is the y-intercept

- The slope of the line m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}

  where (x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) are two points on the line

* Lets solve the problem

- Assume that the weeks' number is x and the cars' number is y

∴ (10 , 200) and (15 , 175) are two points on the line which represent

  the linear equation between the cars' numbers and the weeks

  numbers

∵ Point (x1 , y1) is (10 , 200) and point (x2 , y2) is (15 , 175)

∴ x1 = 10 , x2 = 15 and y1 = 200 and y2 = 175

- Use the rule of the slope above to find m

∴ m=\frac{175-200}{15-10}=\frac{-25}{5}=-5

- Substitute the value of x in the form of the linear equation above

∴ y = -5x + c

- To find c substitute x and y by one the coordinates of one of the

  two points

∵ x = 10 when y = 200

∴ 200 = -5(10) + c

∴ 200 = -50 + c

- Add 50 to both sides

∴ 250 = c

- Substitute the value of c by 250

∴ y = -5x + 250, where the number of cars seen each week is y and

  x is the number of the week

∵ f(x) = y

∴ f(x) = -5x + 250

Simplify square root of (1-sin theta)(1+sin theta)
Vinil7 [7]
Recall the important identities:

i) (a-b)(a+b)= a^{2}- b^{2}, the difference of squares formula.

ii) sin^{2} x+cos^{2}x=1, for any angle x.

Then,

from i)

\sqrt{(1-sin(theta))(1+sin(theta))}= \sqrt{1- sin^{2}(theta) }

then, from ii), we have

\sqrt{1- sin^{2}(theta) }= \sqrt{cos^{2}(theta) }=cos(theta)

Answer: cos(theta)
