To throw the discus, the thrower holds it with a fully outstretched arm. Starting from rest, he begins to turn with a constant a

ngular acceleration, releasing the discus after making one complete revolution. The diameter of the circle in which the discus moves is about 1.7m. If the thrower takes 1.2s to complete one revolution, starting from rest, what will be the speed of the discus at release?

Answer:

4.437 m/s

Explanation:

Diameter of rotation d is 1.7 m

Radius of rotation = d/2 = 1.7/2 = 0.85 m

If he takes 1.2 sec to complete one revolution, then his angular speed is 1/1.2 = 0.83 rev/s

We convert to rad/s

Angular speed = 2 x pi x 0.83

= 2 x 3.142 x 0.83 = 5.22 rad/s

Speed is equal to the angular speed times the radius of rotation

Speed = 5.22 x 0.85 = 4.437 m/s

adoni [48]

Answer:

F = 316.22 N

Explanation:

Given that,

The wind blows a jay bird south with a force of 300 Newtons.

The  jay bird flies north, against the wind, with a force of 100  newtons.

Both the forces are acting perpendicular to each other. The net force is given by the resultant of forces as follows :

F=\sqrt{300^2+100^2} \\\\F=316.22\ N

Hence, the net force on the jay bird is 316.22 N.

harkovskaia [24]

Answer:

λ = 2042 nm

Explanation:

given data

screen distance d = 11 m

spot s = 4.5 cm = 4.5 ×10^{-2} m

separation L = 0.5 mm = 0.5 ×10^{-3} m

to find out

what is λ

solution

we will find first angle between first max and central bright

that is tan θ = s/d

tan θ = 4.5 ×10^{-2}  / 11

θ = 0.234

and we know diffraction grating for max

L sinθ  = mλ

here we know m = 1  so put all value and find λ

L sinθ  = mλ

0.5 ×10^{-3}  sin(0.234)  = 1 λ

λ = 2042.02 ×10^{-9}  m

λ = 2042 nm

A 4.00-kg mass is attached to a very light ideal spring hanging vertically and hangs at rest in the equilibrium position. The sp
Ahat [919]

Answer:

|v| = 8.7 cm/s

Explanation:

given:

mass m = 4 kg

spring constant k = 1 N/cm = 100 N/m

at time t = 0:

amplitude A = 0.02m

unknown: velocity v at position y = 0.01 m

y = A cos(\omega t + \phi)\\v = -\omega A sin(\omega t + \phi)\\ \omega = \sqrt{\frac{k}{m}}

1. Finding Ф from the initial conditions:

-0.02 = 0.02cos(0 + \phi) => \phi = \pi

2. Finding time t at position y = 1 cm:

0.01 =0.02cos(\omega t + \pi)\\ \frac{1}{2}=cos(\omega t + \pi)\\t=(acos(\frac{1}{2})-\pi)\frac{1}{\omega}

3. Find velocity v at time t from equation 2:

v =-0.02\sqrt{\frac{k}{m}}sin(acos(\frac{1}{2}))
