Scientists studying an anomalous magnetic field find that it is inducing a circular electric field in a plane perpendicular to t

he magnetic field. The electric field strength 1.5 m from the center of the circle is 3.5 mV/m. At what rate is the magnetic field changing?

Answer

The rate at which the magnetic field is changing is  [\frac{dB}{dt} ] = 0.000467 T/s

Explanation

From the question we are told that

   The electric field strength is E =  3.5mV/m =  3.5 *10^{-3} \ V/m

    The radius is  r =  1.5 \ m

The rate of change of the  magnetic  field  is mathematically represented as

        \frac{d \phi }{dt}  =  \int\limits^{} {E \cdot dl}

Where dl is change of a unit length

     \frac{d \phi}{dt}  =  A *  \frac{dB}{dt}

Where A is the area which is mathematically represented as

     A = \pi r^2

    So

    E \int\limits^{} {  dl} =  ( \pi r^2) (\frac{dB}{dt} )

  E L  =  ( \pi r^2) (\frac{dB}{dt} )

where L is the circumference of the circle which is mathematically represented as

     L = 2 \pi r

So

     E (2 \pi r ) =  (\pi r^2 ) [\frac{dB}{dt} ]

      E  =   \frac{r}{2}  [\frac{dB}{dt} ]

       [\frac{dB}{dt} ] = \frac{E}{ \frac{r}{2} }

substituting values

      [\frac{dB}{dt} ] = \frac{3.5 *10^{-3}}{ \frac{15}{2} }

      [\frac{dB}{dt} ] =  0.000467 T/s

Ricardo and Jane are standing under a tree in the middle of a pasture. An argument ensues, and they walk away in different direc
Advocard [28]

Answer:

the direction that should be walked by Ricardo to go directly to Jane is 23.52 m, 24° east of south

Explanation:

given information:

Ricardo walks 27.0 m in a direction 60.0 ∘ west of north, thus

A= 27

Ax =  27 sin 60 = - 23.4

Ay = 27 cos 60 = 13.5

Jane walks 16.0 m in a direction 30.0 ∘ south of west, so

B = 16

Bx = 16 cos 30 = -13.9

By = 16  sin 30 = -8

the direction that should be walked by Ricardo to go directly to Jane

R = √A²+B² - (2ABcos60)

   = √27²+16² - (2(27)(16)(cos 60))

   = 23.52 m

now we can use the sines law to find the angle

tan θ = \frac{R_{y} }{R_{x} }

         = By - Ay/Bx -Ax

         = (-8 - 13.5)/(-13.9 - (-23.4))

     θ  = 90 - (-8 - 13.5)/(-13.9 - (-23.4))

         = 24° east of south

Notice that in each conversion factor the numerator equals the denominator when units are taken into account. A common error in
navik [9.2K]

Answer:

he factor for the temporal part 1.296 107 s² = h²

 m / s² = 12960 km / h²

Explanation:

This is a unit conversion exercise.

In the unit conversion, the size of the object is not changed, only the value with respect to which it is measured is changed, for this reason in the conversion the amount that is in parentheses must be worth one.

In this case, it is requested to convert a measure km/h²

Unfortunately, it is not clearly indicated what measure it is, but the most used unit in physics is   m / s² , which is a measure of acceleration. Let's cut this down

the factor for the distance is 1000 m = 1 km

the factor for time is 3600 s = 1 h

let's make the conversion

        m / s² (1km / 1000 m) (3600 s / 1h)²

note that as time is squared the conversion factor is also squared

        m / s² = 12960 km / h²

the factor for the temporal part 1.29 107 s² = h²

A student lifts a 50 pound (lb) ball 4 feet (ft) in 5 seconds (s). How many joules of work has the student completed?
Elis [28]

           Work = (weight) x (distance)

  Work = (50 lb) x (1 kg / 2.20462 lb) x (9.81 newton/kg)

                           x (4 feet) x (1 meter / 3.28084 feet)

           = (50 x 9.81 x 4) / (2.20462 x 3.28084)  newton-meter

           =        271.3 joules .

We don't need to know how long the lift took, unless we
want to know how much power he was able to deliver.

                   Power = (work) / (time)

                               = (271.3 joule) / (5 sec)  =  54.3 watts .
________________________________________

The easy way:

         Work = (weight) x (distance)

  = (50 pounds) x (4 feet)  =  200 foot-pounds

Look up (online) how many joules there are in 1 foot-pound.

There are  1.356 joules in 1 foot-pound.

So  200 foot-pounds = (200 x 1.356) = 271.2 joules.

That's the easy way.
