Single replacement reactions.  For example copper is more reactive than silver.  So a copper wire in a silver solution will cause the silver to become a metal again.

Chemists use activity series to determine whether A SINGLE REPLACEMENT reaction will occur.

Activity series refers to a series of metals that are arranged in order of reactivity starting from the highest to the lowest. The series is used essentially to determine the products that are formed from single displacement reactions. A metal that is higher in the activity series will always replace a metal that is lower in the series if rhe two of them exist in the same solution. This is because, a metal that is higher in the series will be more reactive than a metal that is below in activity series.

Complete Question

The complete question is shown on the first uploaded image

Answer:

The correct option is  E_{cell}__{AC}} = 0.94

Explanation:

  From the question we are told that

          the cell voltage for AD is  E_{cell}__{AD}} = 1.56V

From the data give we can see that

               E_{cell}__{AD}} - E_{cell}__{BD}} = E_{cell}__{AB}}

i.e           1.56 - 1.53 = 0.03

   In the same way we can say that

              E_{cell}__{AD}}-E_{cell}__{CD}} = E_{cell}__{AC}}

=>        E_{cell}__{AC}}=1.56- 0.62

                       E_{cell}__{AC}} = 0.94

What is net ionic equation borax hydrolysis?
deff fn [24]
The net ionic equation of borax hydrolysis would be:

 <span>Na2B4O7 + 7H2O-----------------> 2 NaOH + 4 H3BO3
</span>
Wherein 2 moles of sodium hydroxide and 4 moles of boric acid are produced by the hydrolysis.

You have 49.8 g of O2 gas in a container with twice the volume as one with CO2 gas. The pressure and temperature of both contain
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

34.2 g is the mass of carbon dioxide gas one have in the container.

Explanation:

Moles of O_2:-

Mass = 49.8 g

Molar mass of oxygen gas = 32 g/mol

The formula for the calculation of moles is shown below:

moles = \frac{Mass\ taken}{Molar\ mass}

Thus,

Moles= \frac{49.8\ g}{32\ g/mol}

Moles_{O_2}= 1.55625\ mol

Since pressure and volume are constant, we can use the Avogadro's law  as:-

\frac {V_1}{n_1}=\frac {V_2}{n_2}

Given ,

V₂ is twice the volume of V₁

V₂ = 2V₁

n₁ = ?

n₂ = 1.55625 mol

Using above equation as:

\frac {V_1}{n_1}=\frac {V_2}{n_2}

\frac {V_1}{n_1}=\frac {2\times V_1}{1.55625}

n₁ = 0.778125 moles

Moles of carbon dioxide = 0.778125 moles

Molar mass of CO_2 = 44.0 g/mol

Mass of CO_2 = Moles × Molar mass = 0.778125 × 44.0 g = 34.2 g

<u>34.2 g is the mass of carbon dioxide gas one have in the container.</u>

A gas cylinder filled with nitrogen at standard temperature and pressure has a mass of 37.289 g. The same container filled with
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

Molar mass = 3.9236 g/mol ≅ 4 g/mol

This corresponds to Helium gas.

Explanation:

Let the moles of nitrogen gas = x moles

Moles of carbon dioxide = x moles ( As both are filled at same temperature and pressure conditions )

Given:

Mass_{Container}+Mass_{Nitrogen\ gas}=37.289\ g

Molar mass of nitrogen gas, N_2 = 28.014 g/mol

The formula for the calculation of moles is shown below:

moles = \frac{Mass\ taken}{Molar\ mass}

Thus,

x\ moles= \frac{Mass}{28.014\ g/mol}

Mass of nitrogen gas = 28.014x g

So,

Let, Mass_{Container}=y

y+28.014x=37.289

Similarly,

Mass_{Container}+Mass_{Carbon\ dioxide\ gas}=37.440\ g

Molar mass of nitrogen gas, CO_2 = 44.01 g/mol

The formula for the calculation of moles is shown below:

moles = \frac{Mass\ taken}{Molar\ mass}

Thus,

x\ moles= \frac{Mass{44.01\ g/mol}

Mass of nitrogen gas = 44.01x g

So,

y+44.01x=37.440

Solving the two equations, we get :

Mass_{Container}=y=37.025\ g

x = 0.00943 moles

Thus, Given:

Mass_{Container}+Mass_{Unknown\ gas}=37.062\ g

37.025\ g+Mass_{Unknown\ gas}=37.062\ g

Mass of the gas = 0.037 moles

Moles = 0.00943 moles

The formula for the calculation of moles is shown below:

moles = \frac{Mass\ taken}{Molar\ mass}

Thus,

0.00943\ moles= \frac{0.037\ g}Molar mass}

Molar mass = 3.9236 g/mol ≅ 4 g/mol

This corresponds to Helium gas.
