In the early 1600s, Galileo Galilei performed a series of experiments to measure the acceleration of a ball rolling down a smoot

h inclined plane. He tried several ways to measure time, including water clocks and his own pulse. Suppose his pulse rate was 66 beats per minute, and he counted 11 beats for the ball to roll down the plane. How many seconds was the ball rolling?

A 1500 kg car traveling at 20 m/s suddenly runs out of gas while approaching the valley shown in the figure. The alert driver im
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

v_f = 17.4 m / s

Explanation:

For this exercise we can use conservation of energy

starting point. On the hill when running out of gas

          Em₀ = K + U = ½ m v₀² + m g y₁

final point. Arriving at the gas station

         Em_f = K + U = ½ m v_f ² + m g y₂

energy is conserved

         Em₀ = Em_f

         ½ m v₀ ² + m g y₁ = ½ m v_f ² + m g y₂

        v_f ² = v₀² + 2g (y₁ -y₂)

we calculate

        v_f ² = 20² + 2 9.8  (10 -15)

        v_f = √302

         v_f = 17.4 m / s

A bicyclist of mass 112 kg rides in a circle at a speed of 8.9 m/s. If the radius of the circle is 15.5 m, what is the centripet
kogti [31]
The centripetal force, Fc, is calculated through the equation,
                                    Fc = mv²/r
where m is the mass,v is the velocity, and r is the radius.
Substituting the known values,
                                     Fc = (112 kg)(8.9 m/s)² / (15.5 m)
                                         = 572.36 N
Therefore, the centripetal force of the bicyclist is approximately 572.36 N.

A child on a playground swing is swinging back and forth (one complete oscillation) once every four seconds, as seen by her fath
Sati [7]

Answer:

A

Explanation:

Solution:-

- According to the law of relativity the relative speed between two moving objects is inversely proportional to the the time taken.

- Ignoring Doppler Effect.

- So if the relative speeds of two objects in motion i.e ( swing and spaceship) are positive then the time frame of reference for both object relative to other other decreases. So in other words if spaceship approaches the swing i.e relative velocity is positive then the time period of oscillation observed would be less than actual i.e less than 4 seconds.

- Similarly, if spaceship moves away from the swing i.e relative velocity is negative then the time period of oscillation observed would be more than actual i.e more than 4 seconds.

An airplane travels horizontally at a constant velocity v. An object is dropped from the plane and one second later another obje
Delvig [45]

Answer:

the vertical distance between the two object will increase uniformly when they are dropped after a fixed interval of time

Explanation:

Since airplane is moving horizontally with constant speed v

so when object is dropped from the plane then the speed of the object will be same as that of the speed of the airplane

so we can say that two object when dropped after some interval of time then they always lie in same vertical line

now we know that they both have same acceleration in vertical line so the motion of two objects relative to each other in vertical direction is always uniform motion because they have no acceleration with respect to each other

So the vertical distance between the two object will increase uniformly when they are dropped after a fixed interval of time
