Answer is: high temperature.

The Celsius scale, also known as the centigrade scale, is a temperature scale used by the International System of Units (SI).

The Celsius scale was based on 0°C for the freezing point of water and 100°C for the boiling point of water at 1 atm pressure.

The degree Fahrenheit (symbol: °F)  is not used by the International System of Units.

In the Fahrenheit scale, water freezes at 32 degrees, and boils at 212 degrees.

The temperature T in degrees Celsius (°C) is equal to the temperature T in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) minus 32, times 5/9: T(°C) = (T(°F) - 32) × 5/9.

A student measures the absorbance of a solution containing FeSCN2 ion using a spectrophotometer. The cuvette used by the student
suter [353]

Answer:

The measured absorbance will be too large.

Explanation:

Fe³⁺(aq) + SCN⁻(aq) ⟶Fe(SCN)²⁺(aq)

A = log₁₀(I₀/I)

If the student orients the cuvette so that the path of the light is through the frosted sides of the cuvette, little light will be able to reach the detector.

The measured intensity (I) will be quite small, so the absorbance (A) will be unusually large.

Enough water is added to 50.0 mL of a 0.660 M NaOH solution in order to bring the total volume to 450.0 mL. What is the molarity
g100num [7]

Answer:

0.073 M

Explanation:

M1*V1 = M2*V2

M1 = 0.660 M

V1 = 50.0 mL

V2 = 450.0 mL

0.660M * 50.0 mL = M2*450.0 mL

M2 = 0.660M*50.0/450.0 = 0.073 M

Using the activity series provided. Which reactants will form products?
Butoxors [25]
The series of metals shown above is what we call the activity series. This is a guide for us to know what products are formed during a metal displacement reaction. A metal must be above the other metallic compound for displacement to occur.

1. Ag is way below the series compared to Na. No reaction occurs.
2. Al  is above Fe, no reaction occurs.
3. Na is above Ni, no reaction will occur.
4. Fe is a more active metal than copper. A displacement reaction will occur.

A 12.00g sample of MgCl2 was dissolved in water. 0.2500mol of AgNO3 was required to precipitate all the chloride ions from the s
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

Purity=99\%

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, the undergoing precipitation reaction is:

MgCl_2+2AgNO_3\rightarrow Mg(NO_3)_2+2AgCl

Thus, for the 0.2500 moles of silver nitrate, the following mass of magnesium chloride is consumed (consider their 2:1 molar ratio):

m_{MgCl_2}=0.2500molAgNO_3*\frac{1molMgCl_2}{2molAgNO_3} *\frac{95.2gMgCl_2}{1molMgCl_2} \\\\m_{MgCl_2}=11.90gMgCl_2

Therefore, the purity of the sample is:

Purity=\frac{11.90g}{12.00g}*100\%\\ \\Purity=99\%

Best regards.

100. cal of heat are added to 18.0 g of ethanol (0.581 cal/g °C) originally at 23 °C. The final temperature is ____________.
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

Final temperature is 32.56 °C

Explanation:

The specific heat of a substance is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1g of the substance by 1°C.

The following equation/formula is used;

Q = m × c × ΔT

Where; Q= amount of heat supplied

(cal)

M= mass of ethanol (g)

C= specific heat of ethanol

(cal/g °C)

ΔT= change in temperature (°C)

i.e. (final temperature - initial

temperature)

According to the question, Q= 100 calories (cal), M= 18g, C= 0.581 cal/g °C, initial temperature = 23°C, final temperature = ?

Hence, we insert our values into the equation;

Q = m × c × ΔT

ΔT = Q/mc

(Final T - Initial T) = Q/mc

(Final T - 23) = 100/ 18 × 0.581

(Final T - 23) = 100/10.458

Final T - 23 = 9.562

Final T = 23 + 9.562

Final T = 32.562

Hence, the final temperature of ethanol is 32.56°C
