Because going down the group the size of the atom increases because of shielding effect etc. due to which the netineractio between the atom and the outermost electron decreases so these electrons on the surface of iodine become excited by absorbing heat energy from light so when they release this energy and come to their normal state, they emit this light so it appears that they have lustrous surface

Titration reveals that 11.6 mL of 3.0M sulfuric acid are required to neutralize the sodium hydroxide in 25.00mL of NaOH solution
Deffense [45]

Answer:

Explanation:

Molarity of acid(volume of acid)(# of H ions)= molarity of base(volume of base)(# of OH ions)

M(v)(#)=M(v)(#)

sulfuric acid    sodium hydroxide

H2SO4           NaOH

(3)(11.6)(2)=M(25)(1)

A sample of thallium(III) peroxide, Tl2(O2)3, contains 2.45 mol of thallium(III) ions. The number of moles of peroxide ions in t
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

The correct answer is 3.675 moles.

Explanation:

Based on the question, the reaction taking place is,

Tl₂(O₂)₃ ⇒ 2Tl⁺³ + 3O₂⁻²

Thus, 1 mole of thallium peroxide comprise 2 moles of thallium and 3 moles of peroxide ions.

However, based on the given question, a sample of thallium peroxide comprise 2.45 moles of thallium ions. The moles of peroxide ions present in the sample will be,

= 2.45 × 3 / 2

= 3.675 moles.

Hence, the moles of peroxide ions present in the given sample is 3.675.
