We have: Gravitational Potential Energy (U) = mgh

Here, m = 3 Kg

g = 9.8 m/s²        [ constant value for earth system ]

h = 3 m

Substitute their values into the expression:

U = 3 × 9.8 × 3

U = 88.2 J

In short, Your Answer would be 88.2 Joules

When a mass of 25 g is attached to a certain spring, it makes 20 complete vibrations in 4.0 s. what is the spring constant of th
earnstyle [38]

Answer: The spring  of the spring is 25 N/m.

Explanation:

Mass of the body = 25 g= 0.025 kg (1 kg = 1000 g)

Oscillation is 4 sec = 20

Oscillation in 1 sec =\frac{20}{4}=5

Frequency of the vibration of the spring = 5 s^{-1}=5 Hz

Force constant can be calculated bu using the relation between the frequency and, mass and spring constant 'k'

Frequency=\frac{1}{2\pi}\times \sqrt{\frac{k}{m}}

5 s^{-1}=\frac{1}{2\times 3.14}\times \sqrt{\frac{k}{0.025 kg}}

k=24.649 N/m\approx 25 N/m

The spring  of the spring is 25 N/m.

A sample of silver (with work function Φ=4.52 eV ) is exposed to an ultraviolet light source (????=200 nm), which results in the
Crank

Answer:

1. c

2. e

3. d

Explanation:

1.

From Einstein's Photoelectric Equation, we know that:

Energy given up by photon = Work Function + K.E of Electron

hc/λ = φ + K.E

where,

h = Plank's Constant = 6.626 x 10⁻³⁴ J.s

c = speed of light = 3 x 10⁸ m/s

λ = wavelength of light source = 200 nm = 2 x 10⁻⁷ m

φ = (5.1 eV)(1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ J/eV) = 8.16 x 10⁻¹⁹ J

Therefore,

(6.626 x 10⁻³⁴ J.s)(3 x 10⁸ m/s)/(2 x 10⁻⁷ m) - 8.16 x 10⁻¹⁹ = K.E

K.E = (9.939 - 8.16) x 10⁻¹⁹ J

K.E = 1.778 x 10⁻¹⁹ J

The positive answer shows that electrons will be emitted. Since it is clear from the equation the the K.E of electron decreases with the increase in work function. Therefore:

c. <u>less energetic photo-electrons (on average)</u>

<u></u>

2.

The increase in light sources means an increase in the intensity of light. The no. of photons are increased, due to increase of intensity. Thus, more photons hit the metal and they eject greater no. of electrons. Therefore,

e. <u>more photo-electrons ejected</u>

<u></u>

3.

X-rays have smaller wavelength and greater energy than ultraviolet rays. Thus, the photons with greater energy will strike the metal and as a result, electrons with higher energy will be ejected.

d. <u>more energetic photo-electrons (on average)</u>

Liang is working with an electrical circuit. She replaces a straight electrical wire with a coiled wire. What is Liang most like
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

increase the strength of the magnetic field when current flows through the circuit

She can change the arrows so they show current traveling in opposite directions on the sides of the loop.

halfway between the like poles of two magnets, because the field lines bend away and do not enter this area

A generator converts kinetic energy to electrical energy, and a motor converts electrical energy to kinetic energy.

A switch is closed, so the circuit would be complete and unbroken and the lights in the circuit would shine.

A neutron star has a mass of 2.0 × 1030 kg (about the mass of our sun) and a radius of 5.0 × 103 m (about the height of a good-s
laiz [17]

Answer:

30298514.82 m/s

Explanation:

M = Mass of star = 2×10³ kg

r = Radius of star = 5×10³ m

G = Gravitational constant = 6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ m³/kgs²

t = Time taken

u = Initial velocity

v = Final velocity

s = Displacement

a = Acceleration

a=G\frac{M}{r^2}\\\Rightarrow a=6.67\times 10^{-11}\frac{2\times 10^{30}}{5\times 10^3}\\\Rightarrow a=2.7\times 10^{16}\ m/s^2

v^2-u^2=2as\\\Rightarrow v=\sqrt{2as+u^2}\\\Rightarrow v=\sqrt{2\times 2.7\times 10^{16}\times 0.017+0^2}\\\Rightarrow v=30298514.82\ m/s

The object would be moving at a velocity of 30298514.82 m/s

A box of mass 3.1kg slides down a rough vertical wall. The gravitational force on the box is 30N . When the box reaches a speed
Nostrana [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

a) The net force on the box in vertical direction:

Fnet=Fg−f−Fp  *sin45  °

 here Fg is the  gravitational force .f is the force of friction and , Fp is the pushing force.

Fnet=ma

ma=Fg−f−Fp  *sin45  °

a=\frac{30-13-23*sin(45)}{3.1}

 =0.24 m/s²

Vf =Vi +at

     =0.48+0.24*2

Vf=2.98 m/s

b)

                                Fnet=Fg−f−Fp  *sin45  °

                                        =Fg−0.516Fp−Fp  *sin45  °

                                        =30-1.273Fp

                                Fnet=0               (Because speed is constant)

                                Fp=30/1.273

                                      =23.56 N
