Option D: 46.0 g

The balanced chemical reaction is as follows:

2Na+2H_{2}O\rightarrow 2NaOH+H_{2}

The standard temperature and pressure conditions are 273.15 K and 1 atm respectively.

First calculate the number of moles of H_{2} formed at STP,

Since, PV=nRT

Here, P is pressure, V is volume, n is number of moles, R is gas constant and T is temperature.

Rearranging the equation,

n=\frac{PV}{RT}=\frac{(1 atm)(22.4 L)}{(0.082 atm L K^{-1} mol^{-1})(273.15 K)}=1 mol

Thus, number of moles of H_{2} gas will be 1 mol.

From the chemical reaction, 2 mol of Na gives 1 mol of H_{2} thus, number of moles of Na will be 2 mol.

Molar mass of Na is 22.99 g/mol thus, mass can be calculated as follows:

m=n\times M=2 mol\times 22.99 g/mol=45.98 g\approx 46 g

Therefore, mass of Na is 46.0 g.

We are given with the balanced equation above 2Na + 2H2O = 2NaOH + H2. when 22.4 L of H2 at STP is present, there is a one mole equivalent of H2. Via stoichiometry, there are 2 moles of Na needed. The equivalent mass of Na is equal to 45.98 grams. ANswer is D

A cup of gold colored metal beads was measured to have a mass 425 grams. By water displacement, the volume of the beads was calc
Butoxors [25]
If the volume of 425 grams was 48.0 cm³, simply divide

g/cm³ = 425 g/48 cm³ = 8.85 g/cm³

If using water in water displacement, 1 mL = 1 cm³

8.85 g/cm³ = 8.85 g/mL

This density is most closely aligned with that of B. Copper

Hope I helped!

Consider the two facts below:
OLEGan [10]

Answer:

A. There is more dissolved oxygen in colder waters than in warm water.

D. If ocean temperature rise, then the risk to the fish population increases.

Explanation:

Conclusion that can be drawn from the two facts stated above:

*Dissolved oxygen is essential nutrient for fish survival in their aquatic habitat.

*Dissolved oxygen would decrease as the temperature of aquatic habit rises, and vice versa.

*Fishes, therefore, would thrive best in colder waters than warmer waters.

The following are scenarios that can be explained by the facts given and conclusions arrived:

A. There is more dissolved oxygen in colder waters than in warm water (solubility of gases decreases with increase in temperature)

D. If ocean temperature rise, then the risk to the fish population increases (fishes will thrive best in colder waters where dissolved oxygen is readily available).

We breathe around an average of 500 ml of air in 1 normal (or relax) breathing. The lungs already have around 3 litres of reserve breathing. Since there is around 21% oxygen in air, we breathe in around 105 ml of Oxygen from the air. That is equal to around 0.14 g of Oxygen.

A spontaneous reaction is taking place in a flask as evidenced by the formation of gas bubbles. When you touch the flask, it feels hot and gets hotter as the reaction progresses.... (c,d,h)

A spontaneous reaction is taking place in a flask. When you touch the flask, it feels hot and gets hotter as the reaction progresses....(c,f,h)

A spontaneous reaction is taking place in a flask. You notice the formation of gas bubbles intensifies as the reaction progresses....(c,d,I)

A solid in a closed flask begins to melt. (You can consider this a phase change.)....(b,d,g)

A liquid begins to appear on the inside of a closed flask. At first glance before the liquid began to appear, you might have thought the flask was empty. (You can consider this a phase change.)....(a,e,h)

Explanation:

Now it is necessary here to state the equation for ∆G

∆G= ∆H-T∆S

The values of ∆G depends on the relative values of ∆H, T and ∆S.

When heat is evolved by a system, ∆H is negative, when heat is absorbed by a system, ∆H is positive.

When gases are evolved, ∆S is positive, when gases turn to liquids or solids ∆S is negative.

Let us also recall that, for the melting process ∆S positive ( solid changes to liquid), ∆H is positive(energy is absorbed) and T increases( the substance is heated). Hence ∆G is negative

For the condensation process; ∆H is negative (heat is evolved), ∆S is negative (gas changes to liquid) and T is decreased hence ∆G is positive.

Why are the concentrations of [H3O+] and [OH−] equal in pure water?
kotegsom [21]

Answer : The correct option is, (A) [H_3O^+]=[OH^-] because one of each is produced every time an [H^+] transfers from one water molecule to another.

Explanation :

As we know that, when the two water molecule combine to produced hydronium ion and hydroxide ion.

The balanced reaction will be:

HOH+HOH\rightarrow H_3O^++OH^-

Acid : It is a substance that donates hydrogen ion when dissolved in water.

Base : It is a substance that accepts hydrogen ion when dissolved in water.

From this we conclude that, the hydrogen ion are transferred from one water molecule to the another water molecule to form hydronium ion and hydroxide ion. In this reaction, one water molecule will act as a base and another water molecule will act as an acid.

Hence, the correct option is, (A)
