Answer:

a)  The velocity of the ball upon leaving the foot = 600 m/s

b)  Time to reach the goal posts 40.0 m away = 0.07 seconds

c)  The kick won't e going inside goal post, it is higher by 10.34m.

Explanation:

a) Rate of change of momentum = Force

   \frac{\texttt{Final momentum - Initial momentum}}{\texttt{Time}}=\texttt{Force}\\\\\frac{0.040v-0.040\times 0}{0.010}=2400\\\\v=600m/s

  The velocity of the ball upon leaving the foot = 600 m/s

b) Horizontal velocity = 600 cos20 = 563.82 m/s

   Horizontal displacement = 40 m

   Time

            t=\frac{40}{563.82}=0.07s

   Time to reach the goal posts 40.0 m away = 0.07 seconds

c) Vertical velocity = 600 sin20 = 205.21 m/s

    Time to reach the goal posts 40.0 m away = 0.07 seconds

    Acceleration = -9.81m/s²

    Substituting in s = ut + 0.5at²

             s = 205.21 x 0.07 - 0.5 x 9.81 x 0.07²= 14.34 m

    Height of ball = 14.34 m

    Height of post = 4 m

    Difference in height = 14.34 - 4 = 10.34 m

    The kick won't e going inside goal post, it is higher by 10.34m.

MArishka [77]

Complete Question:

Suppose that an asteroid traveling straight toward the center of the earth were to collide with our planet at the equator and bury itself just below the surface. What would have to be the mass of this asteroid, in terms of the earth’s mass M, for the day to become 25.0% longer than it presently is as a result of the collision? Assume that the asteroid is very small compared to the earth and that the earth is uniform throughout.

Answer:

m = 0.001 M

A 1 200-kg car traveling initially at vCi 5 25.0 m/s in an easterly direction crashes into the back of a 9 000-kg truck moving i
sukhopar [10]

Answer:

The velocity of the truck after the collision is 20.93 m/s

Explanation:

It is given that,

Mass of car, m₁ = 1200 kg

Initial velocity of the car, v_{Ci}=25\ m/s

Mass of truck, m₂ = 9000 kg

Initial velocity of the truck, v_{Ti}=20\ m/s

After the collision, velocity of the car, v_{Cf}=18\ m/s

Let v is the velocity of the truck immediately after the collision. The momentum of the system remains conversed.

initial\ momentum=final\ momentum

1200\ kg\times 25\ m/s+9000\ kg\times 20\ m/s=1200\ kg\times 18+9000\ kg\times v

210000-21600=9000\ kg\times v

v=20.93\ m/s

So, the velocity of the truck after the collision is 20.93 m/s. Hence, this is the required solution.

Calculate the current through a 10.0-m long 22-gauge nichrome wire with a radius of 0.321 mm if it is connected across a 12.0-V
Kipish [7]

Answer:

Therefore,

Current through Nichrome wire is 0.3879 Ampere.

Explanation:

Given:

Length = l = 10 meter

Radius = r = 0.321\ mm =0.321\times 10^{-3}\ meter

Resistivity=\rho=1.00\times 10^{-6}\ ohm\ meter

V = 12 Volt

To Find:

Current, I =?

Solution:

Resistance for 0.0-m long 22-gauge nichrome wire with a radius of 0.321 mm if it is connected across a 12.0-V battery given as

R=\dfrac{\rho\times l}{A}

Where,

R = Resistance

l = length

A = Area of cross section = πr²

\rho=Resistivity=1.00\times 10^{-6}\ ohm\ meter

Substituting the values we get

R=\dfrac{1\times 10^{-6}\times 10}{3.14\times (0.321\times 10^{-3})^{2}}

R=\dfrac{1\times 10^{-5}}{3.23\times 10^{-7}}

R=\dfrac{1\times 10^{2}}{3.23}

R=30.95\ ohm

Now by Ohm's Law,

V= I\times R

Substituting the values we get

I=\dfrac{V}{R}=\dfrac{12}{30.95}=0.3876\ Ampere

Therefore,

Current through Nichrome wire is 0.3879 Ampere.
