Answer : The correct option is, Both gases have the same average kinetic energy.

Explanation :

As we are given that there are 8 moles of 'He' and 'Xe'.

At STP condition,

The temperature and pressure are 273 K and 1 atm respectively.

The formula of average kinetic energy is, K.E=\frac{3}{2}RT. From this we conclude that the average kinetic energy is depends on the temperature only. So, at same temperature the average kinetic energy will also be same for both the gases.

As we know that the molecular speed is inversely proportional to the square root of the molecular mass. That means, it depends on the molar mass of substance. So, both the gases have the different molecular speed.

As we know that the density is directly proportional to the mass of substance. That means, it depends on the mass of substance. So, both the gases have the different density.

At STP,

As, 1 mole of He gas contains 22.4 liter volume of He gas

So, 8 mole of He gas contains 8\times 22.4=179.2 liter volume of He gas

As, 1 mole of Xe  gas contains 22.4 liter volume of Xe gas

So, 8 mole of Xe gas contains 8\times 22.4=179.2 liter volume of Xe gas

The mixture of has volume = 179.2 + 179.2 = 358.4 L

Hence, from the above we conclude that the correct option is, Both gases have the same average kinetic energy.

How many liters of 3.0 M NaOH solution will react with 2.4 mol H2SO4? (Remember to balance the equation.)
timurjin [86]

Answer:

1.6 L is the volume of NaOH that has reacted

Explanation:

The balanced reaction is:

H₂SO₄ + 2NaOH → Na₂SO₄  + 2H₂O

This is a neutralization reaction between a strong acid and a strong base. The products are the correspond salt and water.

We propose this rule of three:

1 mol of sulfuric acid needs 2 mol of NaOH to react to react

Then, 2.4 moles of H₂SO₄  will react with (2.4 . 2) / 1 = 4.8 moles of NaOH

As molarity is 3M, we can determine the volume of our solution

Molarity (M) = mol / volume(L) → Volume(L) = mol / Molarity

Volume(L) = 4.8 mol / 3 M = 1.6 L

Nickel can be plated from aqueous solution according to the following half reaction. How long would it take (in min) to plate 29
andrey2020 [161]

Answer:

It take 3.5 *10² min

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Mass of the nickel = 29.6 grams

4.7A

Step 2: The balanced equation

Ni2+ (aq- +2e- → Ni(s)

Step 3: Calculate time

W = (ItA)/(n*F)

  ⇒ W = weight of plated metal in grams = 29.6

 ⇒ I = current in coulombs per second. = 4.7

 ⇒ t = time in seconds.

 ⇒ A = atomic weight of the metal in grams per mole. = 58.69

 ⇒ n = valence of dissolved metal in solution in equivalents per mole.  = 2

 ⇒ F = Faraday's constant in coulombs per equivalent. F = 96,485.309               coulombs/equivalent.

29.6 = (4.7 * t * 58.69)/(2*96485309)

t = 20707 seconds

t =345 minutes = 3.5 * 10² min

It take 3.5 *10² min

How many grams of sulfur must be burned to give 100.0 g of So2
andriy [413]

Answer:

50 g of S are needed

Explanation:

To star this, we begin from the reaction:

S(s) + O₂ (g) →  SO₂ (g)

If we burn 1 mol of sulfur with 1 mol of oxygen, we can produce 1 mol of sulfur dioxide. In conclussion, ratio is 1:1.

According to stoichiometry, we can determine the moles of sulfur dioxide produced.

100 g. 1mol / 64.06g = 1.56 moles

This 1.56 moles were orginated by the same amount of S, according to stoichiometry.

Let's convert the moles to mass

1.56 mol . 32.06g / mol = 50 g

One crystalline form of silica (SiO2) has a cubic unit cell, and from X-ray diffraction data it is known that the cell edge leng
Sav [38]

Answer:

8 Silicon atom are present in unit cell.

16 oxygen atoms are present unit cell.

Explanation:

Number of atoms in unit cell = Z =?

Density of silica = tex]2.32 g/cm^3[/tex]

Edge length of cubic unit cell = a  = 0.700 nm = 0.700\times 10^{-7} cm

1 nm=10^{-7} cm

Molar mass of Silica  = 28.09 g/mol+16.00\times 2=60.09 g/mol

Formula used :

\rho=\frac{Z\times M}{N_{A}\times a^{3}}

where,

\rho = density

Z = number of atom in unit cell

M = atomic mass

(N_{A}) = Avogadro's number

a = edge length of unit cell

On substituting all the given values , we will get the value of 'a'.

2.32 g/cm3=\frac{Z\times 60.09 g/mol}{6.022\times 10^{23} mol^{-1}\times (0.700\times 10^{-7}cm)^{3}}

Z = 8

1 silicon is 2 oxygen atoms. then 8 silicon atoms will be 16 oxygen atoms.

In E. coli, the enzyme hexokinase catalyzes the reaction: Glucose + ATP → glucose 6-phosphate + ADP The equilibrium constant, Ke
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer:

Explanation:

Glucose + ATP → glucose 6-phosphate + ADP The equilibrium constant, Keq, is 7.8 x 102.

In the living E. coli cells,

[ATP] = 7.9 mM;

[ADP] = 1.04 mM,

[glucose] = 2 mM,

[glucose 6-phosphate] = 1 mM.

Determine if the reaction is at equilibrium. If the reaction is not at equilibrium, determine which side the reaction favors in living E. coli cells.

The reaction is given as

Glucose + ATP → glucose 6-phosphate + ADP

Now reaction quotient for given equation above is

q=\frac{[\text {glucose 6-phosphate}][ADP]}{[Glucose][ATP]}

q=\frac{(1mm)\times (1.04 mm)}{(7.9mm)\times (2mm)} \\\\=6.582\times 10^{-2}

so,

q ⇒ following this criteria the reaction will go towards the right direction ( that is forward reaction is favorable  until q = Keq
