A 0.200-kg mass is attached to the end of a spring with a spring constant of 11 N/m. The mass is first examined (t = 0) when the

mass is 17.0 cm from equilibrium in the positive x-direction, and is traveling at 2.0 m/s in the positive x-direction.
a) Write an equation x(t) that describes the position of this mass as a function of time. Express this function in terms of numerical values, trigonometric functions and the time variable "t".b) Repeat for v(t), the speed of the mass as a function of time.c) Repeat for a(t), the acceleration of the mass as a function of time.

Answer:

a) x (t) = 0.3187 cos (7.416 t + 1.008) ,  b)  v = -2,363 sin (7,416 t + 1,008)

c)  a = - 17.52 cos (7.416t + 1.008)

Explanation:

The spring mass system creates a harmonic oscillator that is described by the equation

    x = Acos (wt + φ)

Where is the amplitude, w the angular velocity and fi the phase

a) Let's reduce the SI system

    x = 17.0 cm (1 m / 100 cm) = 0.170 m

The angular velocity is given by

      w = √ (k / m)

      w = √ 11 / 0.200

      w = 7.416 rad / s

Let's look for the terms of the equation with the data for time zero (t = 0 s)

      0.170 = A cos  φ

Body speed can be obtained by derivatives

      v = dx / dt

      v = -A w sin (wt + φ)

     2.0 = -A 7.416 sin φ

Let's write the two equations

     0.170 = A cos φ

     2.0 / 7.416 = -A sin φ

Let's divide those equations

    tan φ= 2.0 / (7.416 0.170)

     φ= tan⁻¹ (1,586)

     φ= 1.008 rad

We calculate A

   A = 0.170 / cos φ

   A = 0.170 / cos 1.008

   A = 0.3187 m

With these values we write the equation of motion

    x (t) = 0.3187 cos (7.416 t + 1.008)

b) the speed can be found by derivatives

      v = dx / dt

      v = - 0.3187 7.416 sin (7.416 t +1.008)

      v = -2,363 sin (7,416 t + 1,008)

c) the acceleration we look for conserved

    a = dv / dt

    a = -2,363 7,416 cos (7,416 t + 1,008)

    a = - 17.52 cos (7.416t + 1.008)

The drawing shows a person (weight W = 588 N, L1 = 0.838 m, L2 = 0.398 m) doing push-ups. Find the normal force exerted by the f
zhenek [66]

Complete Question

The complete question is shown on the first uploaded image

Answer:

Force on each hand is 196.22 N

Force on each foot is 95.8 N

Explanation:

In order to get a better understanding of this question let us explain some concepts

Normal Force:

We can define normal force Fn as that type of force which makes a 90 degree angle with the surface on which it is exerted.

Torque:

We can define torque as the moment of forces that tends to produce or cause rotation

From the question we are given that

Weight of body is (W) = 584 N

The normal force on both hands (Ha) = ?

The normal force on both legs (Lg) = ?

Looking at the diagram the person is at equilibrium so

                 584 = Ha + Lg

an also this mean that torques acting on the body is balanced

         So,   0.410 Ha  = 0.840 Lg

    Making Lg the subject of formula in the equation above we

   Lg = 0.4881 Ha

 Considering the first equation and replacing Lg with this recent equation we have

                      584 = Ha + 0.4881 Ha

          Therefore Ha = 392.44 N

This value obtained is  for both hands for each hand we divide by 2

Therefore we have for each hand = 392.44/2 =196.55 N

Since we have been able to get the force on both hands we can substitute it in to the equation where we made Lg the subject of formula and we have

             Lg = 0.4881 ×  392.44

                  = 191.22 N

The value above is the force on both legs to obtain the force on each leg we have

                  191.22/2 = 95.8 N.

Rasek [7]

Answer:

99.95%

Explanation:

A double pulsar system named PSR J0737-3039A/B  in Puppis constellation was discovered in the year 2003. Pulsars are second most densest object in the universe after black holes and they emit radio waves at regular intervals. This pair presented a great and natural setup to test the Theory of General Relativity presented by Einstein in 1915. In this theory Einstein had presented a set of equations on how the space-time fabric will be curved because of the very dense objects such as Neutron stars. It also predicted how the gravitational waves are created because of stars orbiting each other.

A team of astrophysicists led by Michael Kramer, conducted a study on how these gravitational waves will impact the time in which the radio waves emitted by pulsars will reach Earth. The result of the study proved the theory of General Relativity to be accurate up to 99.95%.

"if a stream flow measures 12 meters in 60 seconds, what is the stream's average rate of flow?"
Vlad [161]
<span>Discharge is the volume of water moving down a stream or river per unit of time, commonly expressed in cubic feet per second or gallons per day. In general, river discharge is computed by multiplying the area of water in a channel cross section by the average velocity of the water in that cross section: discharge = area * velocity. In this case, the answer is 0.2 m/s.</span>
