Answer:

1 ft² requires \frac{1}{160} gallon of paint.(conversion factor)

Explanation:

The wall is 500 ft²

1 gallon is require to paint 160 ft²

160ft² will require 1 gallon of paint.

1 ft² requires \frac{1}{160} gallon of paint.

hence 500ft² will require 500/160 gallons of paint

  =3.125 gallons of paint.

While looking at bromine (Br) on the periodic table, a student needs to find another element with very similar chemical properti
Ede4ka [16]

Answer: There are many possible elements, and they are all in the same vertical column as bromine.

Explanation:

In a periodic table, the elements are arranged according to the atomic number. The elements arranged in the same vertical column (known as groups) have same valence configuration and therefore have same chemical properties. Hence, there would be more possible elements having same chemical properties in the same vertical column (group) as Bromine.

Two cables of the same length are made of the same material, except that one cable has twice the diameter of the other cable. Wh
belka [17]

Answer: The same current flows through bth cables

Explanation:

Lets have a look to the next two equations

The Ohm´s     V = I*R    (1)

where:

V is voltage (potencial dfference) in volts

I is the electric current in ampers

R is the electric resistance

When a voltage is applied as the electrc load is not specified ( we have to assume is the same) the current will be the same

And in the other hand the resistance R =ρL/s

Where ρ is the resistivity of the conductor L the length and s square section of the conductor

If we assume that the smaller diameter cable is able to conduct the current then nothing happens. The point is that the capacity of conduction of current depend on the section of the cable (the area)

Tables exist where to find the capacity of each cable according to its diameter.

alisha [4.7K]
Newton's first law says that an object at rest tends to stay at rest while an object in motion stays in motion at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an outside force so the amount of force behind the defensive football player (N) was greater than the quarterback's so he was able to over power him which is also called unbalanced forces

Calculate the longest wavelength visible to the human eye. express the wavelength in nanometers to three significant figures.
slega [8]

NOTE: The given question is incomplete.

The complete question is given below.

The human eye contains a molecule called 11-cis-retinal that changes conformation when struck with light of sufficient energy. The change in conformation triggers a series of events that results in an electrical signal being sent to the brain. The minimum energy required to change the conformation of 11-cis-retinal within the eye is about 164 kJ/mole. Calculate the longest wavelength visible to the human eye.

Solution:

Energy (E) = 164 kJ/mole

             E = 164 kJ/mole = 164 kJ /6.023 x 10²³

                = 2.72 x 10⁻²² kJ = 2.72 x 10⁻¹⁹J

Planck's constant = 6.6 x 10⁻³⁴ J s,

Speed of light = 3.00 x 10⁸ m/s

Let the required wavelength be λ.

Formula Used: E = hc / λ

or,                  λ = hc / E

or,                  λ = (6.6 x 10⁻³⁴ J s)× (3.00 x 10⁸ m/s) / (2.72 x 10⁻¹⁹J)

or,                  λ = 7.28 x 10⁻⁷ m

or,                  λ = (7.28 x 10⁻⁷ m) ×( 1.0 x 10⁹ nm / 1.0 m)

or,                  λ = (7.28 x 10² nm)

or,                  λ = 728 nm

Hence, the required wavelength will be 728 nm.

What is the momentum of a 533 kg blimp moving east at +75 m/s
mylen [45]

Answer:

39975kgm/s due east

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of the blimp = 533kg

Velocity  = +75m/s due east

Unknown:

Momentum of the body = ?

Solution:

The momentum of a body is the amount of motion it posses.

Momentum is the product of mass and velocity;

  Momentum = mass x velocity

  Insert the parameters and solve;

    Momentum  = 533 x 75  = 39975kgm/s

The momentum of the body is 39975kgm/s due east
