Answer:

0.5L = 500mL

Explanation:

Molarity of a solution is given by;

M= n/V

Where;

n= number of moles of solute

V= volume of solution = size volumetric flask

n=m/m.m

Where; m= mass of solute=43.85g

m.m= molar mass of solute=58.5g

Note that solute is NaCl(s)

n=43.85/58.5=0.75mol

We are that the molarity is 1.50M

To find the size of the volumetric flask, we make V in M=n/V subject of formula

V=n/M

V=0.75/1.50

V=0.5

Therefore, the size of volumetric flask is 0.5L = 500mL

Complete the following sentence: The cathode in a voltaic cell is the electrode _____________.
Sergio [31]

Answer:

to which cations from the salt bridge migrate

Explanation:

A voltaic cell is an electrochemical cell that uses spontaneous redox reactions to generate electricity. It's composed of a cathode, an anode, and a salt bridge.

In cathode, the substance is gaining electrons, so it's reducing, in the anode, the substance is losing electrons, so it's oxidating. The flow of electrons is from the anode to the cathode.

The salt bridge is a bond between the cathode and the anode. When the redox reaction takes place, the substances produce its ions, so the solution is no more neutral. The salt bridge allows the solutions to become neutral and the redox reaction continues.

So, the cathode produces anions, which goes to the anode, and the anode produces cations, which goes to the cathode. Then, the cathode n a voltaic cell is the electrode to which cations from salt bridge migrate and where the reduction takes place.

How many moles of tungsten (W,183.85 g/lol are in 415 grams of tungsten?
vladimir1956 [14]

Given mass of tungsten, W = 415 g

Molar mass of tungsten, W = 183.85 g/mol

Calculating moles of tungsten from mass and molar mass:

415 g * \frac{1 mol}{183.85 g} = 2.26 mol W

Why are the trends and exceptions to the trends in ionization energy observed? Check all that apply. Ionization energy tends to
NNADVOKAT [17]
The trends and exceptions to the trends in ionization energy observed includes;
B, ionization energy tends to increase across a period because the nuclear charge increases.
C, ionization energy tends to increase across a period because electrons are added to the same main energy level.
E, The ionization energies of elements in Group 13 tend to be lower than the elements in Group 2 because the full s orbital shields the electron, in the p orbital from the nucleus.
Ionization energies measure the tendency of a neutral atom to resist the loss of electrons. It takes a considerable amount of energy, for example to remove an electron from a neutral fluorine atom to form a positively charged ion. <span />

aleksandr82 [10.1K]
Solutions are made up of two non reacting species called solute and solvent. The amount of solute in solvent is known as concentration of that solute. Concentration is often measured in Molarity. Molarity is the amount of solute dissolved in 1 dm3 of solution. Answer to your question is as follow;
