Answer:

The answer to your question is 1.8 %

Explanation:

Data

mass of Li = 15.3 g

mass of Cu = 1.25 g

Percent yield = ?

-Balanced chemical reaction

                 6Li  +  Cu₃(PO₄)₂   ⇒   2Li₃PO₄  +  3Cu

-Calculate the theoretical yield of Cu

molar mass of Li = 6 x 6.94 = 41.64 g

molar mass of Cu = 3(63.55) = 190.65 g

                           41.64 g of Li --------------- 190.65 g of Cu

                            15.3 g of Li ---------------- x

                                x = (15.3 x 190.65) / 41.64

                                x = 70.05 g of Cu

-Calculate the percent yield

Percent yield = 1.25/70.05 x 100

                      = 1.8 %

A chemical reaction is done in the setup shown , resulting in a change of mass. What will happen if the same reaction is done in
irina1246 [14]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

The mass of the system will remain the same if there is no conversion of mass to energy in the reaction.

<h3>Explanation:</h3>
  • If the system is closed, then according to the law of mass conservation the mass of the reaction system will remain the same.
  • <u><em>Law of conservation of the mass: In simple words, it is described as the mass of a closed system can never be changed, it may transfer from one form to another or change into energy.</em></u>
  • But if the reaction involves energy transfer like heat or light production, in this case, the mass can be changed.

Your little sister asks you a scientific question: "Does chocolate milk come from brown cows?" In order to answer the question,
aksik [14]

Answer:

Hey there,

Your answer is iii. Brown cows produce white milk. (1 point) <u>and</u> ii. Brown cows never produce chocolate milk. (1 point)

You already know from the basic understanding that chocolate comes from beans, not cows, and is added to milk, and thereby- brown cows do not produce chocolate milk. You also know that they produce white milk.

why is it less effective to wash an insoluble precipitate with 15 ml of water once than it is to wash the precipitate with 3 ml
MArishka [77]

It is less effective to wash an insoluble precipitate with 15 ml of water once than it is to wash the precipitate with 3 ml of water 5 times because commonly, when you clean an <span>indissoluble precipitate with water, the water will not be completely saturated with contaminates. Therefore, the absorption of the contaminates would lower with each wash, since if you only washed it once with a bigger amount or volume of water, it’d become less contaminated with the wash water but it wouldn’t get rinsed numerous times.</span>

Which of the following statements is true about the following reaction?
MAVERICK [17]

The correct reaction equation is:

3NaHCO_{3} (aq) + C_{6}H_{8}O_{7} (aq) \rightarrow 3CO_{2} (g) + 3H_{2}O (l) + Na_{3}C_{6}H_{5}O_{7} (aq)

Answer:

b) 1 mole of water is produced for every mole of carbon dioxide produced.

Explanation: <u>CONVERT EVERYTHING TO MOLES OR VOLUME, THEN COMPARE IT WITH THE COMPOUND'S STOICHIOMETRY IN CHEMICAL EQUATION.</u>

a) <u>22.4 L of CO_{2} gas</u> is produced only when <u>\frac{22.4}{3} L of  C_{6}H_{8}O_{7}</u> is reacted with 22.4 L of NaHCO_{3}. So it is wrong.

b) Since in the chemical equation the stoichiometric coefficient of CO_{2}  and H_{2}O are same so the number of moles or volume of each of them will be same whatever the amount of reactants taken. <u>Therefore it is correct option.</u>

c)  6.02\times 10^{23} molecules is equal 1 mole of Na_{3}C_{6}H_{5}O_{7} if produced then 3 moles of NaHCO_{3} is required, which is not given in the option. So it is wrong.

d) 54 g of water or 3 moles of H_{2}O (<em>Molecular Weight of water is 18 g</em>) is produced when 3 moles of NaHCO_{3} is used but in this option only one mole of NaHCO_{3} is given. So it is wrong.
