<span>–(2n + 4) + 6 = –9 + 4(2n + 1)

-2n - 4 + 6 = - 9 + 4*2n + 4*1
</span>
<span>-2n - 4 + 6 = - 9 + 8n + 4

Take all the n's to one side and numbers to the other side. Sign changes to + or - when equality sign is crossed to other side of equation.
</span>
<span>-2n - 8n  = - 9 + 4 + 4 -6

-10n    =  -7

n =  -7/-10

n = 7/10  or 0.7
</span>

–(2n + 4) + 6 = –9 + 4(2n + 1) \\ \\ -2n - 4 + 6 = -9  + 4(2n + 1) \\ \\ -2n + 2 = -9 + 4(2n + 1) \\ \\ -2n + 2 = 4(2n + 1) - 9 \\ \\ -2n + 2 = 8n + 4 - 9 \\ \\ -2n + 2 = 8n - 5 \\ \\ 2 = 8n - 5 + 2n \\ \\ 2 = 10n - 5 \\ \\ 2 + 5 = 10n \\ \\ 7 = 10n \\ \\  \frac{7}{10} = n \\ \\ n =  \frac{7}{10} \\ \\

The final result is: n = 7/10 or n = 0.7.
