Hey there!

Molar mass N2 = 28.01 g/mol

Therefore:

28.01 g N2 -------------- 6.02*10²² molecules N2

( mass N2 ?? ) ----------- 25,000 molecules N2

mass N2 =  ( 25,000 * 28.01 ) /  ( 6.02*10²³ )

mass N2 = 700250 / 6.02*10²³

mass N2 = 1.163*10⁻¹⁸ g

Hope that helps!

Answer: 116.2\times 10^{-26} grams

Explanation:

According to avogadro's law, 1 mole of every substance weighs equal to the molecular mass and contains avogadro's number 6.023\times 10^{23} of particles.

To calculate the moles, we use the equation:

\text{Number of moles}=\frac{\text {Given molecules}}{\text {Avogadros number}}

\text{Number of moles}=\frac{25000}{6.023\times 10^{23}}=4.15\times 10^{-26}moles

Now 1 mole of N_2 gas weighs = 28 grams

4.15\times 10^{-26}moles of N_2 gas weighs =\frac{28}{1}\times 4.15\times 10^{-26}=116.2\times 10^{-26} grams

Thus the mass will be 116.2\times 10^{-26} grams.

Solid aluminum metal and diatomic chlorine gas react spontaneously to form a solid product. Give the balanced chemical equation
ValentinkaMS [17]

When solid aluminum metal is reacted with diatomic chlorine gas, solid aluminum chloride is formed. This reaction is an example of synthesis or chemical combination in which two elements, aluminum and chlorine combine to form a new compound aluminum chloride.

Word equation: Aluminum (s)+ Chlorine (g)---> Aluminum chloride(s)

Molecular formula of the product formed is AlCl_{3}.

Therefore the balanced chemical equation representing the reaction of solid aluminum with gaseous dichlorine can be represented as,

2Al(s) + 3Cl_{2}(g)-->2AlCl_{3}(s)

A mixture of three gases has a pressure at 298 K of 1380 mm Hg. The mixture is analysed and is found to contain 1.27 mol CO2, 3.
enot [183]

Answer:

The partial pressure of Ar is 356.04 mm Hg (= 0.4685 atm)

Explanation:

<u>Step 1:</u> Data given

A mixture of three gases has a total pressure of 1380 mm Hg (=1.81579 atm) at 298 K

Moles of CO2 = 1.27 moles

Moles of CO = 3.04 moles

Moles of Ar = 1.50 moles

<u>Step 2:</u> Calculate total number of moles

Total number of moles = n(CO2)+ n(CO)+ n(Ar) = 1.27 mol+ 3.04 mol+ 1.50 mol = 5.81 moles

<u>Step 3:</u> Calculate mol fraction Ar

Mol fraction Ar = 1.50 mol/5.81 mol = 0.258

<u>Step 4</u>: Calculate partial pressure

1380 mm Hg * 0.258 moles Ar = 356.04 mm Hg = 0.4685 atm

The partial pressure of Ar is 356.04 mm Hg (= 0.4685 atm)

Find the enthalpy of neutralization of HCl and NaOH. 87 cm3 of 1.6 mol dm-3 hydrochloric acid was neutralized by 87 cm3 of 1.6 m
Vesna [10]

Answer : The correct option is, (A) -101.37 KJ

Explanation :

First we have to calculate the moles of HCl and NaOH.

\text{Moles of HCl}=\text{Concentration of HCl}\times \text{Volume of solution}=1.6mole/L\times 0.087L=0.1392mole

\text{Moles of NaOH}=\text{Concentration of NaOH}\times \text{Volume of solution}=1.6mole/L\times 0.087L=0.1392mole

The balanced chemical reaction will be,

HCl+NaOH\rightarrow NaCl+H_2O

From the balanced reaction we conclude that,

As, 1 mole of HCl neutralizes by 1 mole of NaOH

So, 0.1392 mole of HCl neutralizes by 0.1392 mole of NaOH

Thus, the number of neutralized moles = 0.1392 mole

Now we have to calculate the mass of water.

As we know that the density of water is 1 g/ml. So, the mass of water will be:

The volume of water = 87ml+87ml=174ml

\text{Mass of water}=\text{Density of water}\times \text{Volume of water}=1g/ml\times 174ml=174g

Now we have to calculate the heat absorbed during the reaction.

q=m\times c\times (T_{final}-T_{initial})

where,

q = heat absorbed = ?

c = specific heat of water = 4.18J/g^oC

m = mass of water = 174 g

T_{final} = final temperature of water = 317.4 K

T_{initial} = initial temperature of metal = 298 K

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get:

q=174g\times 4.18J/g^oC\times (317.4-298)K

q=14110.008J=14.11KJ

Thus, the heat released during the neutralization = -14.11 KJ

Now we have to calculate the enthalpy of neutralization.

\Delta H=\frac{q}{n}

where,

\Delta H = enthalpy of neutralization = ?

q = heat released = -14.11 KJ

n = number of moles used in neutralization = 0.1392 mole

\Delta H=\frac{-14.11KJ}{0.1392mole}=-101.37KJ/mole

Therefore, the enthalpy of neutralization is, -101.37 KJ
