A motorcycle daredevil wants to ride up a 50.0-m ramp set at a 30 degree incline to the ground. It will launch him in the air an

d he wants to come down so he just misses the last of a number of 1.00m diameter barrels. If the speed at the instant when he leaves the ramp is 60.0 m/s, how many barrels can be used?
I tried to make a diagram and I looked up the answer so i know its approx 355 but I dont know how to solve it.

Answer:

356

Explanation:

First, find the time it takes for the daredevil to land.

Given (in the y direction):

Δy = -50.0 sin 30° m = -25.0 m

v₀ = 60.0 sin 30° m/s = 30.0 m/s

a = -9.8 m/s²

Find: t

Δy = v₀ t + ½ at²

(-25.0 m) = (30.0 m/s) t + ½ (-9.8 m/s²) t²

4.9t² − 30t − 25 = 0

Solve with quadratic formula:

t = -0.743 s or 6.87 s

t must be positive, so t = 6.87 s.

Next, find the horizontal distance traveled in that time.

Given (in the x direction):

v₀ = 60.0 cos 30° m/s = 52.0 m/s

a = 0 m/s²

t = 6.87 s

Find: Δx

Δx = v₀ t + ½ at²

Δx = (52.0 m/s) (6.87 s) + ½ (0 m/s²) (6.87 s)²

Δx = 356.7 m

Rounding down to the nearest meter, Δx = 356 m.

An object initially at rest experiences a constant horizontal acceleration due to the action of a resultant force applied for 10
Marianna [84]

Answer:

a = 18.28 ft/s²

Explanation:

given,

time of force application, t= 10 s

Work = 10 Btu

mass of the object = 15 lb

acceleration, a =  ? ft/s²

1 btu = 778.15 ft.lbf

10 btu = 7781.5 ft.lbf

m = \dfrac{15}{32.174}\ slug

m = 0.466 slug

now,

work done  is equal to change in kinetic energy

W = \dfrac{1}{2} m (v_f^2-v_i^2)

7781.5 = \dfrac{1}{2}\times 0.466\times v_f^2

 v_f = 182.75\ ft/s

now, acceleration of object

  a = \dfrac{v_f-v_o}{t}

  a = \dfrac{182.75-0}{10}

         a = 18.28 ft/s²

constant acceleration of the object is equal to 18.28 ft/s²

Two small diameter, 10gm dielectric balls can slide freely on a vertical channel each carry a negative charge of 1microcoulomb.
dimulka [17.4K]

Answer:

The distance of separation is d = 0.092 \ m

Explanation:

The mass of the each ball is  m= 10 g  =  0.01 \ kg

 The negative charge on each ball is q_1 =q_2=q =  1 \mu C  =  1 *10^{-6} \ C

Now we are told that the lower ball is  restrained from moving this implies that the net force acting on it is  zero

Hence the gravitational force acting on the lower ball is equivalent to the electrostatic force i.e

          F =  \frac{kq_1 * q_2}{d}

=>       m* g  =  \frac{kq_1 * q_2}{d}

here k the the coulomb's  constant with a value  k = 9*10^{9} \ kg\cdot m^3\cdot s^{-4}\cdot A^2.

So

      0.01 * 9.8  =  \frac{ 9*10^9 *[1*10^{-6} * 1*10^{-6}]}{d}

            d = 0.092 \ m

MrRa [10]

Explanation :

Takumi wears sunscreen and a hat each time he works in the yard. This is to protect himself with the strong radiation coming from the sun. UV rays that are coming from the sun are the main cause of skin cancer.

Stochastic effects are the effects that are caused by chance. Cancer is one of the main stochastic effects.

So, the correct option is (b) "the severity of stochastic effects, such as cancer".

A CCD has a greatest possible pixel value of 4095. what is the bit level of this CCD?
Shtirlitz [24]
<span>Bit level for a CCD (Charged coupled device) with a greatest possible pixel value of 4095:The relationship between the bit level and pixel value is given as:pixel value = 2^bit level.Most charged coupled devices (CCDs) have 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit levels.Using simple mathematics, we can see that 2^12 = 4096.Since the maximum number of pixels is 4095, the bit level is 12., i.e. the CCD has 12-bit level.</span>
