vf ^2 = kx^2/m = 56(0.75)^2 / 2.5 = 12.6

Therefore, v= 3.5 m/s.

Answer: The correct option is 3.5m/s.

Explanation: In the question, conservation of energy is taking place which means that the energy is getting transferred from one form to another form.

Here, elastic potential energy of the spring is getting converted to the kinetic energy of the block.

Mathematically,

\frac{1}{2}kx^2=\frac{1}{2}mv^2

where, k = spring constant = 56N/m

x = compression of extension of spring = 0.75m

m = Mass of the block = 2.5kg

v = velocity of the block = ? m/s

Putting values in above equation, we get:

\frac{1}{2}\times 56\times (0.75)^2=\frac{1}{2}\times 2.5\times v^2\\\\v=3.54m/s

Hence, the block will move at a speed of 3.5m/s

A 1150 kg car is on a 8.70° hill. using x-y axis tilted down the plane, what is the x-component of the weight?
Fed [463]
I assume the x-y axis are tilted such that the x-axis is parallel to the surface of the hill while the y-axis is perpendicular to it.

In this case, the x-component of the weight is given by:
W_x =mg \sin \theta
where
m is the mass of the car
g is the acceleration of gravity
\theta is the angle of the hill

Substituting numbers into the formula, we find
W_x=(1150 kg)(9.81 m/s^2)(\sin 8.70^{\circ})=1706 N

Assume that you stay on the earth's surface. what is the ratio of the sun's gravitational force on you to the earth's gravitatio
Pachacha [2.7K]
First, let's determine the gravitational force of the Earth exerted on you. Suppose your weight is about 60 kg.

F = Gm₁m₂/d²
where
m₁ = 5.972×10²⁴ kg (mass of earth)
m₂ = 60 kg
d = 6,371,000 m (radius of Earth)
G = 6.67408 × 10⁻¹¹ m³ kg⁻¹ s⁻²

F = ( 6.67408 × 10⁻¹¹ m³ kg⁻¹ s⁻²)(60 kg)(5.972×10²⁴ kg)/(6,371,000 m )²
F = 589.18 N

Next, we find the gravitational force exerted by the Sun by replacing,
m₁ = 1.989 × 10³⁰<span> kg
Distance between centers of sun and earth = 149.6</span>×10⁹ m
Thus,
d = 149.6×10⁹ m - 6,371,000 m = 1.496×10¹¹ m

Thus,
F = ( 6.67408 × 10⁻¹¹ m³ kg⁻¹ s⁻²)(60 kg)(1.989 × 10³⁰ kg)/(1.496×10¹¹ m)²
F = 0.356  N

Ratio = 0.356  N/589.18 N
<em>Ratio = 6.04</em>

The speed of an object undergoing constant acceleration increased from 8.0 meters per second to 16.0 meters per second in 10. Se
saw5 [17]

v₀ = initial speed of the object = 8 meter/second

v = final speed of the object = 16 meter/second

t = time taken to increase the speed = 10 seconds

d = distance traveled by the object in the given time duration = ?

using the kinematics equation

d = (v + v₀) t/2

inserting the above values in the above equation

d = (16 + 8) (10)/2

d = 120 meter
