Answer : The correct option is, (A) 82.35% N; 17.65% H

Explanation :

Percent composition : It is calculated by dividing the mass of each element in one mole of the compound that means dividing the mass of each element by the total molar mass of the compound.

Formula used :

\%\text{ Composition}=\frac{\text{Mass of each element}}{\text{Molar mass of compound}}\times 100

The given molecule is, NH_3

Molar mass of H = 1 g/mole

Molar mass of N = 14 g/mole

First we have to calculate the molar mass of NH_3 .

Molar mass of glucose NH_3 = 1(14)+3(1)=17g/mole

Now we have to calculate the percent composition of nitrogen and hydrogen in NH_3.

As we now that there are 1 number of nitrogen atom and 3 number of hydrogen atoms.

\%\text{ Composition of nitrogen}=\frac{\text{Mass of nitrogen}}{\text{Molar mass of }NH_3}\times 100

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get:

\%\text{ Composition of nitrogen}=\frac{14}{17}\times 100=82.35\%

and,

\%\text{ Composition of hydrogen}=\frac{\text{Mass of hydrogen}}{\text{Molar mass of }NH_3}\times 100

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get:

\%\text{ Composition of hydrogen}=\frac{3\times 1}{17}\times 100=17.65\%

Therefore, the percent composition of nitrogen and hydrogen in NH_3 is, 82.35 % and 17.65 % respectively.

In the reaction N2 + 3H2 ⇌ 2NH3, an experiment finds equilibrium concentrations of [N2] = 0.1 M, [H2] = 0.05 M, and [NH3] = 0.00
jasenka [17]
The   equilibrium  constant  Kc   for  this  reaction    is  calculated  as  follows

from  the  equation   N2  + 3H2 =2 NH3

   qc =   (NH3)2/{(N2)(H2)^3}

Qc   is  therefore  = ( 0.001)2  /{(0.1) (0.05)^3}  = 0.08

How many moles are in 8.30x10^23 molecules of H2o
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
You multiply avogadro's number to what you were given.
8.30x10^23 * 6. 0221409x10^23
=1.357*10^25

That should be the right answer but I'm not sure. It has been awhile since I have done this.

If a bottle of olive oil contains 1.2 kg of olive oil, what is the volume, in milliliters (mL), of the olive oil?
Paul [167]

Answer:

1.3 mL

Explanation:

First, get the density of the olive oil, which is 0.917 kg/mL. Then divide the mass by the density:

1.2kg/0.917kg/mL= 1.3086150491 mL. The kg cancel out, leaving us with mL.

It should have 2 significant figures, because 1.2kg has 2 and we are dividing.

Where does the energy required to break the interactions between butane molecules come from when butane boils?
Arada [10]

Answer:

The properties of liquids are intermediate between those of gases and solids, but are more similar to solids. In contrast to intramolecular forces, such as the covalent bonds that hold atoms together in molecules and polyatomic ions, intermolecular forces hold molecules together in a liquid or solid. Intermolecular forces are generally much weaker than covalent bonds. For example, it requires 927 kJ to overcome the intramolecular forces and break both O–H bonds in 1 mol of water, but it takes only about 41 kJ to overcome the intermolecular attractions and convert 1 mol of liquid water to water vapor at 100°C. (Despite this seemingly low value, the intermolecular forces in liquid water are among the strongest such forces known!) Given the large difference in the strengths of intra- and intermolecular forces, changes between the solid, liquid, and gaseous states almost invariably occur for molecular substances without breaking covalent bonds.
