A container explodes and breaks into three fragments that fly off 120° apart from each other, with mass ratios 1: 4: 2. If the f

irst piece flies off with a speed of 6.0 m/s, and the 3rd piece flies off at 3.0 m/s what is the speed of the Second fragments? (All fragments are in the plane.)

Answer:

V₂ = 1.5 m/s

Explanation:

given,

speed of the first piece = 6 m/s

speed of the third piece = 3 m/s

speed of the second fragment = ?

mass ratios = 1 : 4 : 2

fragment break  fly off = 120°

α = β = γ  = 120°

sin α = sin β = sin γ = 0.866

using lammi's theorem

\dfrac{A}{sin\alpha}=\dfrac{B}{sin\beta}=\dfrac{C}{sin\gamma}

A,B and C is momentum of the fragments

\dfrac{m\times 6}{0.866}=\dfrac{4m\times v_2}{0.866}=\dfrac{2m\times 3}{0.866}

4 x V₂ = 2 x 3

V₂ = 1.5 m/s

Write the equivalent formulas for velocity, acceleration, and force using the relationships covered for UCM, Newton’s Laws, and
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer:

The newton’s second law is F=ma

The Gravitational force is F=\dfrac{Gm_{1}m_{2}}{r^2}

Explanation:

Given that,

The equivalent formulas for velocity, acceleration, and force using the relationships covered for UCM, Newton’s Laws, and Gravitation.

We know that,

Velocity :

The velocity is equal to the rate of position of the object.

v=\dfrac{dx}{dt}....(I)

Acceleration :

The acceleration is equal to the rate of velocity of the object.

a=\dfrac{dv}{dt}....(II)

Newton’s second Laws

The force is equal to the change in momentum.

In mathematically,

F=\dfrac{d(p)}{dt}

Put the value of p

F=\dfrac{d(mv)}{dt}

F=m\dfrac{dv}{dt}

Put the value from equation (II)

F=ma

This is newton’s second laws.

Gravitational force :

The force is equal to the product of mass of objects and divided by square of distance.

In mathematically,

F=\dfrac{Gm_{1}m_{2}}{r^2}

Where, m₁₂ = mass of first object

m= mass of second object

r = distance between both objects

Hence, The newton’s second law is F=ma

The Gravitational force is F=\dfrac{Gm_{1}m_{2}}{r^2}

A small box of mass m1 is sitting on a board of mass m2 and length L (Figure 1) . The board rests on a frictionless horizontal s
chubhunter [2.5K]

Explanation:

Whole system will accelerate under the action of applied force. The box will experience the force against the friction and when this force exceeds then the box will move. so

Ff = μs×m1×g

m1×a = μs×m1×g

a = μs×g

The applied force is given by

F = (m1 + m2)×a so

F = μs×g×(m1+m2)

A race car makes one lap around a track of radius 50 m in 9.0 s. What is the average velocity? *
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Given that,

Radius of track, r = 50 m

time , t = 9 s

velocity, v = ?

Distance covered by car in one lap around a track is equal to the circumference of the track.

C = 2 π r = 2 * 3.14 * 50

C = 314.159 m

Distance covered by car, s = 314.159 m

Velocity = distance/ time

V = 314.159 / 9

V = 34.9 m/s

The average velocity of car is 34.9 m/s.

Stella is driving down a steep hill. She should keep her car __________ to help _________. a. light, it speed up in a higher b.
frez [133]

Answer:

<em>The Answer is both B and C, </em><em>since it has same options from the question given. Gear, slow her vehicle in a lower</em>

Explanation:

<em>The use of a lower gear in a vehicle helps a person to control their speed limits, when approaching a hill. it also saves the brakes too, using the brakes down a hill can overheat the gear and causes brake failures</em>

<em>By changing in into a lower gear and also letting the engine to do the brake work in a vehicle, the engine will absorb a force and slow the vehicle down, but in most cases brakes can be applied but with lesser pressure.</em>

<em>In this case Stella need to slow down by applying her lower gear down a hill to avoid accidents on the road, by controlling her speed limits and  for safety precaution</em>

When Jim and Rob ride bicycles, Jim can only accelerate at three-quarters the acceleration of Rob. Both startfrom rest at the bo
Natali5045456 [20]

Answer:

46.4 s

Explanation:

5 minutes = 60 * 5 = 300 seconds

Let g = 9.8 m/s2. And \theta be the slope of the road, s be the distance of the road, a be the acceleration generated by Rob, 3a/4 is the acceleration generated by Jim .  Both of their motions are subjected to parallel component of the gravitational acceleration gsin\theta

Rob equation of motion can be modeled as s = a_Rt_R^2/2 = a300^2/2 = 45000a[/tex]

Jim equation of motion is s = a_Jt_J^2/2 = (3a/4)t_J^2/2 = 3at_J^2/8

As both of them cover the same distance

45000a = 3at_J^2/8

t_J^2 = 45000*8/3 = 120000

t_J = \sqrt{120000} = 346.4 s

So Jim should start 346.4 – 300 = 46.4 seconds earlier than Rob in other to reach the end at the same time
