Answer:

If heat is added to a liquid<u><em> it will change into a gas (option D)</em></u>

Explanation:

There are different states of aggregation of matter, among which are the solid state, liquid state and gaseous state, to which the plasma state is added, not important in this case.

The transition from one state to another is called a state change.

Bodies change from one state to another due to the effect that temperature and pressure have on it, either by increasing or decreasing these factors.

If heat is applied the particles of the surface and those of the interior may enter the gaseous state. This process is called the boiling point, and the temperature necessary to reach that point is called the “Boiling Temperature”. This temperature is characteristic of each substance.

Finally, <u><em>if heat is added to a liquid it will change into a gas. </em></u>

Answer: Resistance = 8.21 \times 10^{-8} \Omega

The approximate diameter of a penny is, <em>d</em> = 20 mm

thickness of penny is, <em>L = </em> 1.5×10^{-3} mm

The area of penny along circular face is,A = \frac{\pi d^2}{4} =\frac{\pi (20 mm\frac{1 m}{1000 m})^2}{4}

= 3.14×10^{-4} m²

The resistivity of copper is <em>ρ</em> = 1.72 x 10-8 Ωm.

Resistance,

R = \rho \frac{L}{A}  = (1.72 \times 10^{-8} \Omega m)\frac{1.5 \times 10^{-3} m}{3.14 \times 10^{-4} m^2} = 8.21 \times 10^{-8} \Omega

A roller coaster travels 200 feet horizontally and then rises 135 feet at an angle of 30 degrees above the ground. What is the m
Delvig [45]
Say the initial point is (0,0)

The final point is

x = 200 + 135*cos(30) = 200 + 135*sqrt(3)/2 = 316.91 ft
y = 135*sin(30) = 135/2 = 67.5 ft

Resultant vector = (316.91, 67.5) - (0,0) = 316.91, 67.5) ft

An electric toaster is rated 1200 watts at 120 volts. what is the total electrical energy used to operate the toaster for 30 sec
Anarel [89]
Energy is calculated as power*time, so give the wattage of 1200 W (equivalent to 1200 Joules/second) and time of 30 seconds, multiplying these gives 36000 J or 36 kJ of electrical energy.

If electrical charge or current is needed: Power = voltage * current, so given the power of 1200 watts and voltage of 120 V, current is 1200 W / 120 V = 10 Amperes. Charge is calculated by multiplying 10 A*30 s = 300 C.

A 75-hp (shaft output) motor that has an efficiency of 91.0 percent is worn out and is to be replaced by a high- efficiency moto
daser333 [38]

Convert the shaft ouput from HP to kW

Shaft output = 75HP = 55.93kW

1st: Finding for the power consumption based on 55.93kW output

Power consumption (Old) = 55.93kW / .910 = 61.46kW

Power consumption (New) = 55.93kW / .954 = 58.63kW

2nd: Total power used in kWh:

Power Used = Power consumption * load factor * Hours:

Power (Old) = 61.46kW * .75 * 4368 = 201343 kWh

Power (New) = 58.63kW * .75 * 4368 = 192072 kWh

Energy saved = 201343 kWh - 192072 kWh = 9,271 kWh

3rd: Calculating for the price:

Price = kW-Hr * $/kWh

Price (Old) = 201343kWh * $0.08/kWh = $16107.44

Price (New) = 192072 kWh * $0.08/kWh = $15365.76

Cost saved = $16107.44 - $15365.76 =  $741.68/yr

4th: Setting up the cost equation:

Cost over time, F(t) = Motor_Cost + (Price * Number of Years, t)

Cost (Old) = 5449 + 16107.44*t

Cost (New) = 5520 + 15365.76*t

Equate the two to find for t when they cost equally:

5449 + 16107.44*t = 5520 + 15365.76*t

16107.44*t = 15365.76*t +71

16107.44*t - 15365.76*t = 71

741.68*t = 71

t = 71 / 741.68 = .095 years = 35 days

So the payback period is after 35 days.
